Levy finally seems to have submitted a bid of EU 55 mil.
I think that was Atalanta's asking price?
So maybe we get him?
And GOK, we need him now Toby is gone (for oy 3 mil).

47 Million sterling. You get what you pay for.

It's not just the central defence that needs work. Reggie and Doherty can't defend. They are all over the show. We'll need to spend a few quid for someone to get a bit of order back there. We can't have another season with those idiots in the middle of the defence.

Back 3 makes sense for me and push Reguilon and Doherty to wing positions.

Skipp/Lo Celso/Ndombele and PEH

Son Lucas Bergwijn/Dele

So we have sold our best defender without a replacement?

Standard spurs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes...and for only 3 MiL........can you believe that?
Toby "was not in Nuno's plans"!
The price was a total blunder.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not that he wasn't in his plans, it's pretty well documented he asked for a transfer, even before Nuno.

Tottenham are still the only club leading the race for Cristian Romero. Talks ongoing with Atalanta to reach an agreement, work in progress tonight/today too. Personal terms agreed. ⚪️🇦🇷 #THFC

Barcelona have not made any official/verbal bid as they’ve different priorities.

Fab Romaro. Here we still are Z z z

And the saga drags on.

God, for someone who is supposed to be a shrewd business man, Levy is so indecisive.

And, yet again, we have sold before buying. will Spurs ever learn ? think about it, our two main CB's are now Dier and Sanchez. Jeez. With Aurier still hanging around. Double jeez.

You would expect a decent incoming manager to be able to sit down with a key player and change his mind....
but no...Nuno is failing his early tests.
And the leaving price?
Not boding well for Nuno. ....

A little short sighted there mate.

Toby has given his best years to the club, if he wants to leave for a final pay day and we have plans on defensive signings then it works for both parties.

Looks like there is growing confidence that Romero will be a Spurs playing in the coming days, hopefully this weekend.

Toby leaving has nothing to do with Nuno. He was always going to leave and Spurs were always going to build a new defence

Absolutely correct. Toby has given his best days, and was as culpable as the rest of the defence for the poor showing last season. Sometimes you have to move on players, even though they have given their all.

I think he'll have no choice unless they can start producing going the other way. Signs haven't been good so far.

either/or - they're about as good as each other aren't they?

Apparently Dele tweeted something about Romero? I don't use Twitter so can't confirm...

Apparently Atlanta are close to signing Lovato too to replace him

posted on 30/7/21

It's very, very likely to happen now. Should be done by the weekend / early next week.

Not the reported leaving price!
That's my point.
As regards Toby wanting leave, fine I wish him well.
