I can’t help feeling what’s happening now at Celtic is deliberate. There’d have to be monumental levels of incompetence right through every single decision maker to have us where we are now. To have won four straight trebles and find ourselves h00ring ourselves to Eddie fkn Howe! Seriously? Eddie fkn Howe? Then bring in Ange and hand him a pile of schite to work with, and (so far) not back him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I suspect it is somewhere in between? Clearly not 1st choice but, despite the bumming up, recognised as a big risk and effectively a caretaker not worth backing too well until someone better comes available? Poor Ange has fallen for it hook, line and stinker and is a stooge.

He walks he risks his own reputation and livelihood.

He stays and fails he becomes the fall guy.

He stays and is a success despite the constraints then the board take the credit. It is a win / win for them.

So many parallels to Wim so I hope for the same outcome.

We have went from " he needs time to ....he needs to win his next two games

=========

ok are we saying he doesn't need to win his next two games?

that team should be winning the next two games mate.

i have sympathy for him and i think he deserves time to implement his vision, that said i also think if its not working he needs to review it.

he has an idealistic way of playing, but not the personnel to do it.

I’m not measuring anyone on a few meagre showings; especially when as talented they may be, they are surrounded by mediocrity.

People from both sides of the OF appear only too ready to slaughter them at first opportunity. ffs; there were dafties on here yesterday piling into Starfelt. Mental.

Danger with Beale is he could be another Ian Cathro. Fantastic coach and right hand man, absolutely awful manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we can put that concern on the back burner for now
We have a coaching team and squad that should be able to compete which is all we ask
Celtic are a tad of a shambles on signings
JFK does mention it at the beginning of many seasons
and he’s not wrong
There’s an absolute balance between throwing money about and spending g what’s required
Celtic don’t appear to have got the balance correct
Perhaps it is as simple as see where we get in Europe before allocation of spending
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely. We're in a great place with our whole backroom team from Ross Wilson down. Need to enjoy it while it lasts because one important staff member leaving has the potential to throw the whole system out of kilter. No doubts there will be downs after this up.

Us deliberately losing the title last season was planned.
There was a high level meeting with the Masons, the Knights of St. Columba and the Lanarkshire Referees Association.

It was obvious if we won the tenth title, The Rangers were in that much hock they would've died again, and banter years aside, it's no fun watching face painters lose money.

You can't have a Celtic without a The Rangers, so it was decided the easiet way to do it was let Lennon continue chewing baccy and fvckin things up, Shame Duffy was brought in as insurance and Refs would let The Rangers win and not award any penalties against them either.

I watched a Youtube video about it last night, Tom Boyd and the resolution 12 boys narrated it, amazing stuff, controversial even.

Starfelt got a bit of a raw deal getting chucked in without even having time to have a coffee with the squad

Think your resolve will be tested when clubs down south start registering serious interest in some of your players.

I've no doubt it's this window or next that the squad starts to get cut up. I'm surprised it's not already begun

didn't even know his team mates names

strachan got off to a very rocky start and came good, i hope for more of the same from Ange.

we are so far behind in preparations now, new signings should be blended in friendlies, not in champions league qualifiers.

smid

seems to be overlooked, people forget rodgers took what appeared to be a bang average squad and added a few players to make it dominant.

i fear we are in danger of overlooking than in our rage at the board. That team was good enough to win.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a very good point JFK.

Although Ange is new to the role, a decent manager would have a backroom team with him. The fact he does not yet looks very amateurish.

Also, throwing in new signings after half a training session at most??? Pretty bad call.

Not being able to adapt his setup to suit situations and not being able to change the run of a game when it's going against you. That's the manager accountable for that.

I am not rating Ange at this stage.

I can't wait for the old firm game or when Celtic play one of the better teams in the spfl, such as Aberdeen and Hibs or at Johnstone etc.

Celtic v hearts in league cup will be interesting if Ange loses that one too.

An expression in IT, keep the lights on during transition. Ange looks like your inexperienced IT guy, causing big impacts during transition 😄

Very pleasing - Smirk 👍

I am not sure we have the personnel for any formation?

BTW, according to transfermarkt we have the 2nd youngest squad average age - us and Livi being significant outliers. Our obsession with buying projects continues.

Can't find average height but I'll bet we are the most midget?

Yes , depending on what sort of outlook you have to this he doesn't NEED to win those two games .

We probably will win those two games btw or at least a draw and a win - but until he has his players in and we look like a decent team on paper - which we currently do not! then its ridiculous to throw any of this at the managers doorstep

its totally hands behind the back stuff just now - and its really unfair on him

it would be great to get off to a flyer under new management - but our board and previous management haven't allowed this to happen .

But i suspect a few will be eating their words in good time

he might well come good, but it seems right now that the full backs are a major part of his system, and ours are f...ing terrible, which is not his fault.

however, not changing it when you know they are schite, would be his fault.

We don't have a defence.

Starfelt is probably a decent addition, but the rest are rubbish.

We've went from

Forster
Lustig---Jozo---Boyata---KT

Bain
Kenny--Duffy---Ajer---Taylor

Barkas
Ralston---Welsh---Bitton---Taylor

Fckn horrific

to...

Keeper
RB---Welsh---Starfelt---LB

Hope he gets a couple in this week.

We must have over £30M banked in sales and about £150k p/w saved on wages. If Eddy goes too, hopefully we can fund the four crucial positions we need.

I'm just hoping it's players we can "afford to lose" who go - we could do without eg Kamara before we could do without Barisic.

Ah that's different , I had assumed you meant he needs to win these or he should go?

He needs a defence , any team looking to win things need a defence
