Kane doesn't show up for training

I'd put a decent bet on that they would if they wanted to, they just haven't done it. That doesn't mean they don't have the capacity to do so.

I can't understand why a club would want to keep hold of him if you're just holding him against his will now. Just cut ties, get your money for him, be it £100m and just move on and find other targets to replace him with. Spurs are just giving themselves a bigger headache keeping players around who would rather be elsewhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is spot on.

Harry is a world class player. He wants to be in a team with ambition and success. For whatever reason, we haven't provided that and you can't blame him for wanting out.

Levy just needs to accept that and take some money and reinvest. it's the only way that this ends positively.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is rubbish. Need to send a message to the rich clubs that we do not let our prize assets leave on the cheap. If he had a year left on this deal then £100m would be acceptable.

We are talking about a club who have oil money and shed loads of it. Feck Man City. Feck want Kane wants when he has 3 years left. Contracts mean something.

If you want the league's top scorer and assists you have to pay the fee when he has three years left.

Glad some of you softies are not running the club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Totally agree...fans pretend the want to be a big club then they bow to players. Make your minds up. Kane goes when we say...not just because we aren't in champions league. He should have put this in his contract.

The Kane brothers coming across as a right pair of knuckleheads in this saga. He should have gotten a proper agent
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really. If they had a gentleman's agreement you cannot blame them for acting the way they are. Other plauers have done the same. It's normal really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
im talking about the timing of the neville interview. the leak to the sun, and now the advice to skip training. oh, and the dumb 6 year contract.

gentlemans agreement would have surely been that if an acceptable offer comes in then we sell.

have city actually even made an official bid yet?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
£100m by all accounts. You have try a low ball offer. No point coming in high..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If (and it's a big if) there is (or was) a gentleman's agreement, I believe it would be something like 'OK Harry, stay 1 more year and you can leave if we get a reasonable offer for you' as most Spurs fans are suggesting.

What you're failing to understand is that £100m IS a reasonable offer, no matter what YOU or Levy think it is very reasonable in the current COVID climate.

Also all you Spurs fans saying he should knuckle down and get his move next season, who's to say Levy won't renege on that deal also?

Would you trust him to honour it?

If City want Kane then they can give us Laporte and Silva plus £100 million

posted on 2/8/21

Apparently he wasn't due to turn up for training until tomorrow.

Today was for a Covid Test but there are a million reasons why he didn't show for that.

If/when Kane goes, we will need 2 strikers... That will be tough...

Why didn’t he just put a transfer request in, instead of acting like a spoilt brat & missing training
?!!

I would also buy Milenkovic, to partner Romero in defence... He is a beast... a Vidic type

A new RB is a must...

As I say, the more you put your price up, the more you risk losing the deal. As much as clubs wouldn't usually complain about keeping a player of Kane's ability at the club, why bother when he doesn't want to be there.

Take £100m, or push it to £120m and then reinvest. No point pushing City for more if they aren't willing to pay it, they are pretty shrewd operators themselves despite the money they have.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would rather lose the deal and keep Kane for another season. He will get over it. He is a big boy and will eventually want to bang in goals again. He can go next season for £100m.when he is 29.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no guarantee you will get £100m for him next season though. I don't know whether you think Kane leaving the club at whatever price is a shoe-in or not, but it's far from that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Next season the big clubs will be richer after fans are allowed back in. Utd, Real. Barca , Juve plus City will all be back on track. The market for Kane will widen. If he bangs in another 25 goals plus assists £100m is still a snip.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
One season ticket sales is not going to fix a billion debt ffs. Real have £120m in ticket sales. Fair bit, but that doesnt cut it in the grand scheme of things.

If he wasn’t due to turn up then why are the club planning on fining him?

Kane's value will never be higher. Spurs should get the best deal possible and move on. I would have no grudges towards Kane and think a move to City is the best for his career. He gets to keep chasing Shearer's record whilst winning trophies along the way.

Spurs will be a waste of his career now. We have shown we don't have the same ambition and it's only sensible that Kane looks for a move.

For a club which wants to operate the way it does, Spurs need to be cashing in on players at the peak of their value unless we are competing, which we're not.

The only concern around this is i simply don't have faith that the club will re-invest that money wisely enough.

Simon Stone is really going all out with this. Probably the 4 or 5 the specific article from him.

This one really does smack of desperation. Kane not turning up this morning could literally mean anything.

Seems to me the media will not leave this alone u til they get their way and Kane leaves.

As a story, personally, I no longer have the remotest interest or energy to open the article up and read it.

While on the subject, does anyone know what it is with the media hatred towards Spurs ?

Has been actively happening for a couple of years now, and there must be a reason why.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is your obsession with the media? You seem to have a massive minority complex fuelled by media click bait. If it upsets you this much, the best thing to do is to stop reading the newspapers.

I believe that one more ankle injury could finish Kane anyway.... he’s already lost half a yard of pace...

Better it be at another club, rather than at Spurs... Let’s just cash in & get as much money as we can for him..,

The only one’s going to suffer in all this is the team and ergo the fans. Levy playing his games is going to mean Spurs have very little time to spend the Kane money, and the longer it goes on the higher the cost of signings is going to rise. If there was an agreement then Levy is out of order and it’s his ego yet again doing the damage.

There's a difference between a reasonable offer and a lot of money.

£100m is a lot of money.
It is not however a reasonable value for a player of his calibre irrespective of Covid times.

You can only use the here and now as a benchmark if you're bringing Covid into it. And Sancho moving for £78m and Grealish for a reported £100m means that the offer of £100m for Kane is a lot of money, but not a reasonable offer.

Its completely different ffs. But you love a good argument.

Garden leave means you get paid time off to do fack all.

Gardening leave is a charity aimed at british military veterans to help them deal with mental health issues.

I sincerely believe that, if he truly had an agreement with Levy that he could leave should a £100m bid come in and Levy has reneged on that, Kane should develop a back injury and be out until January.

Insurance would pay his wages so Spurs wouldn't be out of pocket, it would give clarity to the tottenham manager that Kane couldn't be part of his plans and it would give Spurs fans a great reason to point their ire at Levy.

You can't be blamed for standing your ground and sticking to your guns when people back out of agreements.
