I wonder if Messi goes to PSG whether that will speed up Mbappe’s move to Real this window instead of next year. Would rub salt in the wounds of Barca too seeing one superstar leave and another joining their rivals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Possibly. Wonder if PSG would then consider replacing him with Ronaldo. They'd become the most watched team in football history. Probably.
487 million euros of losses in 2 seasons Jesus Christ.

Funny thing is he’s probably not even Barca’s worst president, Gaspart facked them back in the early 2000’s.
Laporta had to clean up his mess as well. Though with the sums they’ve got to clear it might be a bit harder to sort.

Your lot have had a hand in their downfall. You really ripped them off with Coutinho.

I imagine they will be almost having to subsidise his wages just to get rid of shot his summer. Interesting to see if any PL club takes a punt on him.
He's been a disaster no doubt but he's been one of about a dozen disastrous transfers they've made in the last 5-6 years. Culminates in the shambles we are seeing now.

…..
Him and Griezman. Ridiculous way over the top fees and god only knows how much on wages.

He started with some really impressive numbers but lost form and barca kicked him to the curb. Signing players on mega wages then moaning when they get played not to their strengths is a problem Madrid and barca have had for some time. Coutinho and greizman are exceptionally gifted players in the right teams
It’s amazing how maby flops the Spanish clubs have had with players over £100m. Coutinho, Griezmann, Dembele, Hazard and Felix have all done fack all.
How on earth have they managed to pass FFP in the last few years?

And Dembele.
This situation at Barca just screams at introducing some form of salary cap in European football, people don’t realise there’s clubs that operate 70% of their revenue on wages alone. Facking crazy.

Someone posted all the 100mil + transfers, i don’t think any of them have been worth it tbh. Even Ronaldo to a Juve hasn’t been a success imo, and he’s been the most worth it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
They’ve made some decent sales for deadwood and have absurd revenues. Plus they did dodgy swap deal with Juve for Pjanic. And they got £200m for Neymar.
When Leeds United began their downward slump that ended in relegation from the Premier League in the early 2000s, many said their spending 70% of club revenues on player wages was ridiculous.
Barcelona’s salaries are 95% of revenue WITHOUT Messi's wages.

Who would have thought we’d be the real winners out of the neymar transfer. That made Barca splurge on coutinho which we used to fund VVD, Alisson and Fabinho transfers.

It just goes to show how hard it is to replace elite players. We still haven’t replaced Keane and Scholes

I wonder how the stadium refurb will go. They'd be wise to cancel those plans, those poor contractors won't have a chance in hell of getting paid!

Long but interesting read. Some of the stuff boggles the mind - they make us in this same time period look like the most well-run club in football.
