Climate Change never appears to affect 'our betters' at Davos etc.
Ever get the feeling that you're being conned?????

Here’s TUX with his great reset paranoia. How would it affect them? What would you consider them being affected for you to be convinced?

πŸ˜‚ is that a type of leech that attaches to your brain and makes you believe in reptiles in the royal family? Or that the stock market is an abstract set of numbers thrown out by an android with an axe to grind against his one-time human masters?

Is it true that Skynet is run by Bill Gates?

Why ask me, a simpleton, for advice? Nothing i say will ever convince you to stop being dumber than a simpleton.
The world isn't a better place because of you and the endless dross you post.

Britain of all countries can do very little to impact the rate of global warming.

Our best bet is Elon and his mission to colonise Mars.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wrong in so many ways.

The British people and politicians could lead the world, and whilst doing so make a material difference in changing their behaviours given the nation’s consumption and output.

Plus, only mental futurists think Mars is colonisable. Listen to planetary scientists and astrophysicists and they’ll tell you it’s both a completely impractical endeavour and probably impossible in any case.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're right about Mars, but the 1st paragraph is just wishful thinking.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You think far too much of us. China, the states,Pakistan, Iraq, why are they going to jeopardise their economy because little old Britain are “leading climate change”?

We are already top 10 in the world in terms of environmental prosperity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It isn’t the lifestyles of Indians, Pakistanis and Iraqis that’s driving climate change.

They need to get a grip on overpopulation for a start. Populations in Africa and Asia have surged in recent years. They reckon there will be 11bn people on the planet by 2100. Unsustainable.

The top 20 fastest accelerating populations are all in Africa and Asia, as are the countries doing the least to protect the environment.

Fastest growing populations:

Niger
São Tomé and Príncipe
Angola
DR Congo
Equatorial Guinea
Burundi
Zambia
Syrian Arab Republic
Chad
Burkina Faso
Mali
Tanzania
Somalia
The Gambia
Uganda
Mozambique
Gabon
South Sudan
Comoros
Guinea

We can all make changes is our daily lives and pressure governments as well, but what’s the point of it all if the species continue to breed like rabbits? Sh*gging ourselves into extinction.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’re heading for a huge population collapse in 20-30 years. We know there will be far less adults in 30 years than now, which is worrying for young folk who will have to look after old people.

People look at the figures and climate change and think, obviously we have too many people. There’s a huge shift and numbers are dwindling worldwide. A total population collapse is as, if not more worrying than global warming for many scientists.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
While population collapse will be a thing, I think you're confusing the issue with ageing populations? Maybe I just misread your comment.

But yeah, the tax burden of all those pensioners will be insane. It already is to be fair. We'd best get used to the idea of working till we're 80.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. When there is a population collapse, and the ratio of (young) adults to old people declines, who looks after the old people?

It will be a much bigger issue than now, because right now there are far more young adults than old.

But yes, global fertility rates are gradually shrinking and could well be the real threat to human civilisation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure what you're talking about here. Population collapse isn't some abstract thing that will happen. It's already happening in developed countries. Birth rates across the western world aren't enough to sustain populations. Through a mix of lifestyle choices and fertility.

This of course leads to ageing populations. And yeah they're worried about it. Though I suspect things will balance out in the medium term at least. All those climate refugees will maintain growth for a decent period while everything gets figured out

A collapse is only a problem cos we've made it one through constant growth. And, it is an easier problem to address than climate change.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is true.

However, we will find a way, we’ve lived through an ice age with no technology. At some point the world will realise we have to change, but humans are very adaptable. We will lose other species along the way though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There was breathable air during that Ice Age.
If you believe the bible we survived a worldwide flood and were promised the next time God gets pizzed off he'll rain fire down on us.
BTW wasn't it technology that got us into this predicament?

I saw a concept (rather than a solid plan) to dam off mainland Europe in the next century to stop the North Sea from flooding most of Holland, London etc. The dam would be in two parts - the first would be from France to Cornwall and the next would be from the top of the UK to Norway.

The issues would be dealing with shipping and also from an environmental perspective it would turn the sea into a lake of sorts which will have a huge effect on the fish etc in the water. Apparently the cost of the dam would be immense but still cheaper than the damage rising waters would do to most of coastal Europe.

Well, in this country LGBT rising, birth rate falling. That good enough?

Listen, lots of my close family are crossing swords and whatever the lezzer equivalent is? And I am 100% behind depopulation so all good though my point is in the developed world we have the luxury of static / falling birth rates and buying a designer baby with or without the turkey baster. Our issue is elsewhere where they stone LGBTs and are breeding like rabbits before starting the trek to Dover.
