i reckon it probably saved his job, he was facing a nightmare at the time.
at the end of the day it worked out for rangers in the end so i don't think they care really.
can lose this year and while the champions league money would be a nasty miss, the end game was stopping ten so mission accomplished.
Andy, the words I took umbridge to were "everything has so much more meaning now that fans are back in"....how did it mean any less just because there wasn't a full stadium when it happened?
Celtic fans have put Rangers fans down often enough for saying that the 9iar didn't mean much because there was little competition, Rangers were not in the league for a large part of that time, and the 9th wasn't actually won, it was handed out on a plate after the season was cut short
The argument basically being ...it didn't mean much
Truth is ..it's a $hite argument that, a really $hite argument
Yet now, some Celtic fans are somewhat expecting us to buy pretty much the same sort of pi$h with the excuse that fans weren't in last season
As said at the start....no buying it
nah i disagree stevie.
winning 9 was highly diluted, it was schite quite frankly.
should have been huge, should have been there with my brother, my dad, call sign, paddy, should have been there with the guys i've sat with for years.
we won that scottish cup last year and it was tedious and drab.

Winning 9 was nowhere near as good as it should have been. Neither was the Scottish Cup
It was good to win, but in all honesty id say most fans were over it by the next day or 2
Might've been diluted, and not as good an experience...but it still happened JFK, that's my point
The meaning of those victories isn't diminished....you are still 9uar winners and quadruple treble winners
Had you lost that cup final, there would be no quadruple treble.....might not have hurt as much, but would still have meant the same
Ffs I celebrated winning the 9 with a Big Mac meal and 6 chicken nuggets coz it was the only fecking thing opened.

Don't knock him till you've tried him
Reason I posted this was I watching a 30min Aussie documentary made about him after they'd won the Asia Cup on YouTube last night and the way his former and current players were talking about him stood in stark contrast to how Lennon is talked about by his former players.
If Simon Ferry is still on the go in a few years time, there's gonna be some interesting stories about last season.
nobody is denying it happened stevie just that it wasn't nearly as good as it should have been.
Rangers fans in george square maybe got a little bit more out of it because you could do some things at the time but it didn't hurt as much and the trophies didn't mean as much to me.
just wasn't the same without fans, it was mental this year.
Rangers won a league
Juventus didnae
celtic didnae
i came second instead of last in the predictor
scotland got to the euros
england got to the finals
crazy year.

His final season ruined his good work
And yes losing the 10 was big but it was the manner in which it was done .
The team became a reflection on him and who he was !!
We were 20 points behind in the title race by January !
and he had the players , he just couldnt get them going . We had no zip to our game . Our football was very one dimensional ...we seemed to lack any identity in our game .
Scott Brown was finished but still being used !!
I said before but was sitting in a pub watching the champions league final between liverpool and Spurs and on the tv it showed Gerrard at the final ...suited and booted and looking the part .
In the corner of the pub i was watching sat Lennon , like something out the prancing Pony in lord of the rings , protecting his pint of lager . And it just seemed like opposite ends of the spectrum for me .
His lack of professionalism was very apparent , and those type of managers really died out in the 80s.
Eat chips , drink as a team ....we all know they all do it from time to time . But you dont want to see your manager doing it more than you are!
But aye Starfelt.. Bombscare?
