The premier league doesn't want Norwich, hence the start they got. They certainly do handpick a few ties at crucial times.

I'm happy with our nightmare fixture list which will hopefully prove beyond all doubt that Arteta should be sacked.

Fair point.

Fixtures are not picked randomly and they are not picked with an agenda against some clubs and a favouritism towards others either, if that's what you're alluding to.

Looks like a fix to me. But hey ho if you think not, then I won`t argue with you.

Well so they say, but funny none of the top teams ever get a fixture list like Norwich have got. Makes you wonder really if it is random. I sure a few teams could definitely put a case to say it is not as random as they make out.

When was the last time say Man United played Liverpool first game of the season?

posted on 23/8/21

United played Chelsea first game of the season 2 years ago. Also had Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal in our first 6 last season.

I dunno, maybe the FA didn't like us back then but they do now?

Or maybe it's random?

Every game is difficult for Norwich as they are considered by most to be the weakest team in the league. Conversely, every fixture Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea etc get are considered easier because they are the best sides.

It depends how you perceive a "difficult fixture". However, citing Man United in the OP, they've had to play Leeds, which people would notoriously associate as a "difficult fixture" because it's a big game, regardless of the scoreline last season. Before that game, most United fans knew that could be a potential banana skin. You have also referenced two other "London derbies" other than your fixture vs Arsenal, alluding that they become difficult because they are London derbies, but Man United vs Leeds is also a big fixture which makes that a "difficult game", on paper anyway.

They've planned to derail our season in Oct/Nov. It's a massive conspiracy against United I tell you!

Sun 24 Oct Liverpool
Sat 30 Oct Spurs
Sat 06 Nov Man City
Sat 27 Nov Chelsea
Tue 30 Nov Arsenal

Nice little run of playing some good teams and Spurs there

Burnley is never an easy fixture and has become a bit of a bogey game. Leeds and Brentford are similarly not easy and let’s not forget we’ve got Chelsea as well.

That's true actually. Bear in mind also that a lot of those games will be sandwiched by CL fixtures which the likes of Spurs don't have to worry about.

Disgusting from the FA.

Yeh that is fine, but you may have built up a head of steam and some confidence because of the easy fixture list to start with. Imagine say starting with those five games, and say having just say three points on the table at the end of the five games.

I think you might be reading too much into this, Sandy

You gotta play everyone twice. Might as well get some tough ones out of the way early.

Spurs have won two games. Sandy (or whoever he's pretending to be today) doesn't have anything Spurs related to moan about. So he's now moaning about other team's fixtures.

Our start this year is a good mixture of easy and hard (on paper) which is just how I like it.

Too easy and you can be lulled into a false sense of security and too hard can mean playing catch up for months, especially with all the terrible International breaks before Xmas.

posted on 23/8/21

What I don't see as fair is that West Ham only have to play 5 of the top 6 teams from last season over the next 8 months or so when Spurs have to play all 6 of last year's top 6 over this period. How is this fair??

City's first 4 away games.

Spurs
Leicester
Chelsea
Liverpool

Obvious favouritism from the PL there.

posted on 23/8/21

No way its random, there will be some kind of algorithm built into it to ensure Pool get a favourable fixture list

posted on 23/8/21

Play everyone twice, more lucky to face big teams early on might not have picked up form etc lot were missing players who had not had full pre seasons etc too so could argue norwich had favourable start.
