Should Kane play as our creative?

This is my worry. If Kane and Son are not on
It, who have we got too score? No one. Ali can’t seem to finish his dinner and neither can Bergwijn. Lucas is very hot and cold.

I think Lucas and Gil need to be involved a fair bit, they both add pace, and drive at the penalty area, instead of going backwards and sideways as a lot of our players tend to do.

Who is available to sign...I personally would have bought Ings and played him on the right of Kane. We've missed that opp.

We seem to have a lot of old school wingers that would favour a 442. But this would require top class 8s which we don't have. Squad still imbalanced especially if Ndombele and Lo Celso don't step up.

That’s our problem mate for leaving it so late as per usual

You don’t honestly think Kane will push himself or over stretch anything after the summer’s debacle?

Really starting the think Kane hasn't got the legs to play that way.

Thought he had a poor game on Sunday, and was hardly noticeable.

His style in recent years is to sit off the main striking areas and rely more and more on goals from nearer the outside of the area.

Personally I thought he looked knackered, probably because he played on Thursday.

The only hope is with it being a world cup year there might be some frustrated quality that doesn't want to sit on the bench at other clubs.
PSG must have a few. Icardi, Sarabia, Draxler.
Madrid: Jovic and Isco

I would take 2 from any of those.

Why do you want to play so many players out of position?

Reminiscent of his performances in finals which people claim its the team that let's him down 🤔

I think he is fitting the 'Sherignham' role. Sheringham needed to play with a striker and I think this is how to get the best out of Kane.

Lots of flexibility. Nuno needs to find balance and creativity.

In a 433. The two 8s. Need to have goals and assists
In a 343. Your wide midfielders need to be fast and capable of assists
In a 3412 you need a very creative 10

We haven't yet got balance for any of these formations. However the philosophy of protecting the centre of the park with a mid block seems to be the driver of all his defensive tactics which is what we have seen in the last 3 games.

It's looking to me like Kane in his goalscoring exploits peaked 4-5 years ago, when he was getting near 30 league goals. I hope I'm wrong in that but with the way he sits deeper now, does anyone think he'll get back to that? He's become more quiet in front of goal in recent years, not being in the same positions as he was.

If he becomes more of a number 10 then so be it, I think he could do a good job. We need a back up striker either way whether he does or doesn't.

Who is that second striker? Jovic or Icardi seem surplus and best options. We already have Scarlett as a young third option I think the second striker should be older with experience.

Kane just had his highest goal scoring league return for 3 years last season.

He should play as our main goal scoring threat and play a actual creative player behind.

I don't think it's hard to imagine him adding another 7 goals to what he did last season in a more attacking team.

We had a more attacking team last season compared to what we had the few seasons before that and granted he got over 20 goals, it wasn't up there with his best, and he stayed relatively injury free this time.

For me I was hoping he might go on to Lewandowski type levels of goalscoring but I'm not sure I see that now.

Don't know about Scarlett but maybe we should try giving him a few chances. I think the ideal scenario is always to have someone young coming up who can develop and only get better, which an older striker won't.

Scarlett probably unfairly judged by the away Pacos game.

With better players he should show more promise and a few goals.

I mean it's basically impossible to consistently do those numbers in the premier league as opposed to the bundesliga.

And even if he is a 25 goal 10 assist guy rather than a 30 goal 5 assist guy... So what? Still getting us 35 goals one way or another

Yeah I'm not complaining but it means there's more room to have other goal scorers in the team, if the direct goal output of Kane is less than it used to be and he's becoming deeper.
