Interesting to see how upbeat the celtic fans are on here given the result last night.

I never saw the game - I just think that blowing a two goal lead against the Spanish St Mirren would have meant a little more annoyance?

I suppose it's just a readjusting of expectations after last season

Yeah, you could well be right. Our game was a bit oft he curate's egg and I think our supporters see it like that - a major improvement since last year but still creaking around some key areas.
I watched the Rangers game and thought Lyon looked very comfortable and played well within themselves. I'm not really sure that Rangers have improved since last year's success and for Gerrard to say that the scoreline flattered Lyon was myopic at best and playing to his audience at worst. And I'm not sure that all the Bears agreed with him.
You guys might have to readjust your expectations after last season as well.

Agree with that

The high press and quick turnovers of possession from Lyon was about the best I'd seen from a team in the last few years at Ibrox.

I think we were capable of doing (a little better) than we showed last night but the result was fair and Lyon grafted to earn it.

Some very, very good players in that team.

Definitely class players in that Lyon side.
That said, it must be a concern for Bears that Rangers don't really seem to have got started this season and that some players have not found their form for whatever reason, including, Kent, Davis and Morelos. I'm not sure either that your new signings have improved the team - and that's not a charge that can be levied at Celtic.
And, I do know you are top of the League and that you beat Celtic - but I did think when you did beat Celtic that the overwhelming response from the Bears was one of relief. I thought that victory might have kicked started your season, but I'm not sure it has.

Could be an interesting season.
