Mayhem on here if we lose this.

Big game for both teams, they aren’t too bad going forward but we need the boys to click. Think we’ll sneak it 2-1. Doesn’t have the feel of last season when we were on a bit of a run and high in confidence

Feels like a must win to get our season up and running. They are in a miserable place, fans, manager, press and owner all fractured. If we score first, the atmosphere will get poisonous.

We beat them comfortably twice last season, so we’ve got to look for another win here.

Hope to see Shackleton at right back and Klich and Dallas in midfield, although I think we’ll see Dallas at right back and Rodrigo keep his place.

Neither side can really afford to lose this. A point wouldn't be disastrous but it's the performance we need, been awful since pre season. Think we'll edge it, we always seem to find away when we look like we're in a sticky patch. 1-3 win

I think if last season is anything to by, our fitness levels will give us our best hope in this game, packed st James park won’t be easy

Have a horrible feeling about this game.

They're nowhere near as bad as people make out.

Friday night game. Injuries. Must win.

I disagree - it’s a must-not-lose match. A draw would mean just two losses from first five matches and put us in a positive frame of mind for the next game.

Positive frame of mind?

We could be top of the league and some would moan

What’s all this about Harrison and Raphinha unavailable !!!!

posted on 17/9/21

You'd think if Raph was unavailable then the club wouldn't have used him the model for their "game day" post on Twitter, but I suppose it's possible.

Being reported online that Harrison is isolating, but not seen any reliable source for that yet.

Callum Wilson out, players want the manager out, fans want the manager out. We should be fancied for this, lets get the season underway!

Dan James starts then if it's true about Jack.

Raph has been spotted with the travelling squad.

Great news Lubo.

On Firpo, I think you said last match how well you thought he played. I agree. He looks to be a good
pick up. Yes, I'm a massive Alioski fan. But, too
early to write Firpo off. He's already shown ability.

Agree with Lorrimer - this is a must-not-lose rather than a must-win.

Reckon it might be a bit physical again tonight. Let's hope Cooper and Ayling can hold the back line now the three other CBs are out - glad we're not playing Liverpool or Man U!

Speaking of which, we must keep our sense of perspective. We've played Man U and Liverpool and been comprehensively beaten - but they are top four sides. Everton and Burnley are always tough opponents and we at least took something away from those games.

It's true that we haven't seen much of the glorious football we played last year but that's because we have had a tough first four fixtures. It's still too early to start worrying about second season syndrome or whatever.

Onwards and upwards - starting tonight with three hard-earned points, please, and good luck, Liam Cooper!

That's true Jaz. Tough start. Looking forward to the game as always. Hopefully, siege mentality kicks in.

Must not lose this. They are there for the taking but no PL game is ever easy.

1-3 to the Whites.

This really needs to be the game where we kick on and come to life.

We need to show some class

We have that class: Bamford, Raphinha, Harrison, Phillips are all class players, and now we have James too, a big upgrade on Costa. Really hoping we can tear them a new one tonight like we did last season and as Outwood says kick this season off.

COME ON LEEEEEEDS FFS!

Would be looking at:

Meslier

Dallas Ayling Cooper Firpo

Phillips
Raph Rodrigo Klich James

Bamford

The more I see that side the more we need more quality in central midfield to support KP

lets thrash them. 4-1
