Some kind of monster

Idk about that one. Kinda annoyed me

3 things I hate in roc docs:
1. Talking heads saying how great subject is (if metal/punk it's usually done by Dave Grohl!)
2. Trying to make old shlt appealing to the kids ("hey the Green Day dude you kids like so much is into this shlt"
3.the new trend: apologizing from the (inappropriate) vernacular of the time (I'm looking at you Creem mag doc!)

There’s a good documentary about drumming on Netflix the now. Count Me In. I think.
But even if you’re not a drummer, or even a musician, it’s interesting.

Does The Song Remains the Same count as a documentary? More like an odd concert film.

The recent Muscle Shoals documentary is brilliant, but watching the amount of tragedy Rick Hall had to endure is incredible. His mother left them when he was 4, he later found out she'd become a prostitute. His younger brother fell in boiling lye soap and died, then he was in a car crash with his first wife and she died. Then when he'd made it he bought his father a new tractor; that tipped over and killed him. Amazing music though.

Jack White had to drop a lot of his snobby assumptions. But he looked like a little boy when Page picked up the guitar and started riffing Whole Lotta Love. Let his "cool rock guy" act slip for a second.
