Penalty and red overturned

Boris when we played them earlier in the season they barely attacked us the whole game. They created like 1 chance all game so Southampton gameplan was to play for a draw. Annoying thing about that draw was we had so many sitters missed. Should have scored 4 and they created only 1 decent chance all game as the goal they scored should never have stood.

Still don’t get how with VAR they still allowed Southamptons goal, it was like the most clearest foul of the game.

Not a penalty for me and therefore not a red card.

Yes that is the only 1 decent chance they created all game I was talking about as the goal they scored was like out of the blue from a clear foul so should never have stood. That is why Southampton expected goal was 0.59 and Man Utd was 2.26. Man Utd missed like 3 sitters in that game so it made the draw even more frustrating.

Clearly not a red. How does the ref think it's a deliberate foul?

Unsure whether a pen, don't think the pen is a clear and obvious error whereas the red is.

I suppose when you miss 3 near open goals in a game you can’t complain much. The goal we scored was like the hardest chance we had but the 3 much easier chances are not scored. Could cost us the title that game. Lets hope we smash West Ham and go top of the league again. CR7 for the hat-trick.

We were robbed against Saints. If the foul on Bruno was on KDB then the goal is disallowed and the player probably sent off. Double standards.

Am I being blind or what...

The Southampton player started falling before walker touched him.

Nope, Walker was using his arm first to leverage the Saints player off the ball.

Not enough for him to go down imo but Walker definitely made contact BEFORE the player started falling.

There's been some dreadful refereeing this past week or so.

FFS

Just seen a replay of the incident for the first time.

It was a foul on Walker if anything.

Looked like a penalty to me, but I can understand the no red card.

It's not really Walker's ball to go for, but he makes an honest (if desperate) attempt to get it.

But he doesn't get any of the ball and clearly impedes the striker. Should have been a penalty and no red card.

Walker gets in front of the player who then lunges in between Walker's legs.

They spent 90 minutes playing for fouls, luckily VAR did it's job.

Nah.
The Southampton player definitely was falling before walker touched.
That image you've shown there, he was already on his way down before that and even still, football is a contact sport, what, should walker just let him walk on through and score?

Not a pen or red for me, ref did well.

For me definitely not a red card, I think most agree with that. Looked a definite penalty in real time, and when slowed down it’s one of those that could be argued either way. I don’t think it should have been overturned when you ask the ‘clear and obvious error’ question. It’s subjective, so the original decision should have stood. I do think the red bottled it to some extent.

There have been plenty of decisions previously that have appeared a more obvious candidate to be overturned, yet haven’t been. I have no real issue with refs overturning marginal calls but they have to do it consistently, not sporadically as seems to be the case yesterday.

Boris what do you think of the foul on Fernandes in Southampton game that led to there goal lol. What was funny about that goal counting was there was 2 clear fouls on Fernandes, basically the 2 clearest fouls of the game. Having said that I was worried earlier before Greenwood was taken out just outside the box and no freekick was given. Person tookk Greenwood out to take one for the team and we didn’t even get a freekick lol.

Haven't seen it and have no intention of searching for it as it was weeks ago.

Boris, what do you think of the foul on Ted Drake in the 26th March 1937 match between Arsenal and Stoke City that wasn't given?
