Improvements on last season.

IMO a full good preseason has really helped.

Last season it was half the time and covid disrupted.

Every single preseason game we looked right on the press, looking just on it and that has continued.

3 soft tissue injuries so far isn't great though.

I dont really care about head to head results. IMO they are largely irrelevant as too many circumstances change over time.

for me the fact that we have a more rounded squad with VVD and matip flly fit and good reserves plus tsimikas and milner and even a mostly fit keita means its pretty good.

I still think we are one forward short of a team to really go for multiple things this year.

I am not very impressed with city so far, i don't yet see the drive in them. Cheslea are the team everyone needs to beat.

Agree it’s been a good start , the team are looking good and hoping that klopp keeps shuffling the team as some players do need time as we will need the full squad .
Agree Chelsea are the team to beat and actually think a city win at the weekend would be the best thing .
Hopefully Thiago and Bobby back soon - saw Bobby in Spain a few weeks ago and he was running fine . So hopefully back in the squad for the city game

Assume we’re not sending the Brazilians again?

Still on red list so no but did we strike a deal with Fifa to let them go which meant they were not banned for Leeds we will see.

Egypt or off the red list to Mo will be going.

If on red list no, they won’t be going.

Nice to see the team is back settled again and good to see Konate look pretty solid and keep a clean sheet on his debut as well.

Good!

Great to see us back to relative normality. We seem to be easing our way to wins whilst not having got into top gear yet. It bodes well for the season. Impressed with Klopp rotating and showing we have actually got some decent strength in the squad.

They look absolutely on it and growing in confidence every game. Over come a bit of adversity in games like AC Milan too which bodes well, mentality looks strong and on point.

Squad being utilized as well, and they too are performing in the main.

Our form over the last 15 games is the best in the Prem. Brentford will be tough but the real litmus test will be in October. After that we will have a good idea where we are.

irrespective of how nice brentofrd are and how congratulatory we should be on their hard work and great start they should be being ripped a new one by our side.

arsenal were a shambles on the first day 2-0
Palace 0-0. decent result not just decent
villa 1-1 - quite a good result.
Brighton 0-1 not great but brighton are doing really well so far.
wolves 2-0 good result but wolves aint great.

They need to play midweek and cat rest as many as we can.

IMO looking at the above brentford has stepped up really well and have been good defensively and dangerous as well but they have not met anyone in the top 4 class yet.

This is just reality talking not arrogance or assumptions. If we play like have can and have done v leeds and palace they will have to step up another level to match us.

Its games like this that are the big rewoard to them and what they ought to be right up for and enjoy.

And when a team comes at us we love it even more.

IMO we are looking at porto and city as well over the week thats coming after norwich and thats hwere we need to be really all guns blazing.

3 points v porto away and the group is blown wide open for us.

don't lose v city and thats a big big result too.

City are still the team to beat for me. Pep predicted a slow start from them this season before a ball was kicked. They were the same last season and many had them written off then out of nowhere they got a little momentum going and strung a load of wins together to blow everyone away. They are more than capable of the same again, in fact I would almost expect a big run at some stage.

Chelsea are looking very accomplished however coming into a season off the back of a champions league win I wouldnt have expected less. Im interested to see how they react when a defeat eventually does come their way.

We look as I expected us to look with our defence back fit. Think people forgot just how good a side we were, that suits me just fine and im sure suits the team just fine. We absolutely need a bit more luck than the others on the injury front over the course of the season but i have been very impressed with how we look. Machine like again.

Utd will be up there too. Too much quality up top not to be. They will win games through ronaldo on his own.

No real surprises so far from me at the top end with the exception of brighton. The 4 top sides all look the part.

I think Chelsea have shown that they could well go the distance this season. Early days but to have had to travel to the Emirates, WHL, and Anfield in their first 5 fixtures and come away with 13 points out 15 total is a very good return.

Emirates and WHL? come on.

Winning at Arsenal and Spurs has more gloss over the actual result because of the name, rather than the quality of the team.

They are difficult games of course and are London derbies with plenty of rivalries historically, but neither of those sides are pulling up any trees now. The big results will come against both Manchester clubs away, they've already taken a point at Anfield which was respectable for them given the circumstances.

I’d rather James wasn’t sent off and we just had the pen.

Chelsea would have been more open then, and our higher energy levels would have come out on top.

We had a proper pre season and now the likes of

Kostas
Keita
Curtis
Origi
Thiago
Konate

Are really proving and showing their worth...we have a tremendous squad and results in all competitions are showing that

To add, the draw v City at home was better than the loss last season.

Keep it going lads.

International break sucks but at least it means Trent and Thiago will be fully fit.
