When considering where Spurs are, you need to factor in:
1. Due entirely to money, the top 4 recognised clubs ( City, Chelsea, Utd and Pool ) are considerably further ahead of the rest by margins much greater than most fans assume. I would not be surprised if the gap from 4th to 5th is a minimum of 12 points come the end of this season.
So losing 3-0 to probably the best of that group is going to be a regular occurrence for many teams. Not just Spurs.
2. Kane - think we all know this guy is not the player we had last season. You could blame in on form, or for those who grasp at straws, fitness, but to me he has given up on Spurs, and more worryingly, has adopted a "I will play where I wan't" on the field and is not being challenged by the people who should be pulling him to one side to spell out that he is a striker, not some sort of floating MF superstar. The guy needs to have it spelt out that he is not bigger than the club and cannot just do what he like on the pitch. Don't know his current stats, but shots on target, number of goals is no doubt, abysmal.
3. Midfield weakness. Everyone talks about our defense, but the bigger issue is in MF, or the total lack of it. Yes we can talk about too much defensive tactics, but the fact is we are awful at retaining possession, pressing the ball, any sort of creativity, and absolutely no backbone. Most of this is driven from MF, where at the moment we can't even keep the ball for more than two minutes.
These are my top 3 observations, but no doubt we can all list a few more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a moment in the game vs Chelsea where we were well placed on the corner of the box, Kane edge of the area, Reggie looked up, no one to cross to, plays it back, works an opening looks up to cross, Kane had moved even further away from the goal.
It's hard to know what he's trying to prove....seems like a bit of a Pep audition, to show he can play tippy tappy too.
As for our midfield, i have been saying for ages that it is too one paced. The guys in there are not mobile, agile athletes, they are plodders. You get goal side of them and you are clear. I would rather see GLC in there and get him used to that role and get him learning the runs our attackers will make and growing partnership. Put him in there. Keep him there. NDombele ahead with less defensive responsibility (it was painful watching trying to close down Alonso's forward runs over and over again).
This provides the most balance and the the choice of Kane Son Alli Lucas Bergy Gil ahead of them is pretty interchangeable
I can't imagine Kane is playing like that of his own volition at this level of sport and if he is he's a beIlend.
They're told what to do to the nth degree.

Between the summer saga and his performances thus far Kane has been stinking the gaff out since May. Really need him to start playing like a centre forward now, rather than thinking he’s Pirlo, or our issues with lack of goals is gonna continue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Issue is Ace, there is nobody in that side I trust to score goals apart from Son and Kane. Steven Bergwijn can’t hit a barn door with a banjo. Lucas is far to inconsistent. Dele Ali has completely deteriorated as a player. Scarlett is a 17 year old Rookie, who is clearly not ready yet. We have nobody else mate. That is down to 1 person and he has a big shiny bald head. That’s your clue.
replace Lo Celso with Prime Eriksen and either Berg or Lucas with 10+ goal a season player, our team is very good. its far from being poor.
its being made to look worse than it is through a mix of the early coaching methods from the new boss, taking time to gel and some mitigating factors.

Yep, we need a creative midfielder in the Eriksen mould. GLC just isn’t good enough for me. Lucas I am happy him being a squad player, as he can be very affective, but he isn’t a starter for me. Bergwijn I would sell at the earliest opportunity. A striker than can score goals in Harry and Son’s absence is an absolute must.

Come 20th November I wood expect Nuno to have had enough time with the squad to have implemented his methods, got fitness to the standards he expects etc.
At that point we have a league run of Leeds (h), Burnley (a), Brentford (h), Norwich (h) Brighton (a) and Leicester (a).
I will be reserving my proper judgement on him til the end of that run of games, but I’d expect at least 4 wins and a draw if we are to be remotely taken seriously under him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Very sensible. We should have a clear idea by then whether things are working and after that run we will know exactly how good or bad we are.
I think we will finish anywhere between 5th and 8th. Not good enough to get top 4, that much is certain, but I don't see any of the teams that you might expect to be challenging those positions just below: Villa, Leicester, West Ham, Arsenal, Everton to be that much better than ourselves when we have all players or most available.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I imagine the number of people who think we should have sold him in the summer will have increased. Let's be fair, these anonymous performances aren't a new thing, they are something that have crept into his game with more regularity in the last few years. Whether it's misplaced selflessness to help the team out, or ego, the fact he is coming deep and trying to do everything now is not benefiting the team as much as it should. I want him in the box more than anything else to score goals. I actually think it is more ego, because he keeps taking free kicks when he must know he's rubbish at them.
whether we think we should have sold him is irrelevant, no one bid over £100m for a start

well we dont know what was happening behind the scenes
but it was hardly like we were rejected bids here there and everywhere.
Everyone knows how difficult Baldy can be by now. For them it's probably not worth the hassle.
who you calling baldy, baldy
5-6th and with current form sell Kane to City for £100m in January 😳
We have to give Nuno time though, remember when Poch first arrived, it was not too good for the first few months, it took time for Poch to put his stamp on the team. Whether Nuno will ever turn us around (or get the required backing) only time will tell.
Needing time is just a poor excuse, we all know Nuno isn’t good enough and never wanted him, this is just a joke.
No reason why you can’t come 5th. You’ve multi million pound players in most positions on the pitch.
I feel it goes a little under the radar how much Spurs have actually spent in the last few years.

You are quite right, it does get forgotten, by yourself as well seemingly. We are 17th for net spend - that’s less than Burnley. Even gross spend we have only spent £50m more than Newcastle and their fans give Ashley pellets for how bad they are.
We do not spend enough money and that’s what is holding us back.

It’s not though, we were getting battered at first with Poch, it took Ryan Mason injuring himself to Nick a winner at Sunderland to get off the mark and then that Villa game was the closing doors moment 1-0 down in the 84th minute, Charlie equalises then Kane scores a deflected free kick in injury time - we never looked back.
This isn’t Nunos fault, he has been dealt a sheetey hand

The net argument spend is an easy one to throw around. That graph also shows you’re the 7th biggest spenders in that period.
