"Andreas Christensen won possession in the defensive third 11 times for Chelsea against Manchester City on Saturday, a record in a Premier League match this season."

Danish Warrior AC is and always be our best CB, regardless of formation. Magnificent

As the most expensive team that carries out this particular style of football, Chelsea are logically the best team when it comes stopping the opposition from scoring.

But if you made every team in the the top 4 start matches against everyone else 1-0 down, Chelsea would finish the lowest of the 4.

Completely disagree. Our game is also all about possession and build up play.

People lways try and over complicate things on the basis of one bad performance.

City were exceptional yesterday. When they play like that there is no team better in the PL at pressing opposing teams.

Chelsea on the other hand were very poor and just couldn't cope on the day. However, whilst it may be convenient for some to forget how well we coped against City on the previous three occasions we played them, I like to believe that more level-headed followers of football are able to maintain a clearer perspective.

A lot better in what sense?

Werner couldn't even curve his runs to stay onside, was making bad decisions all day...running up a blind alley and relinquishing possession.

He tries hard i'll give him that....Does next to nothing in advantageous positions.
City were comfortbale defending against him.

Lukaku created our best chances of the matches.

In the sense he had more of the ball, ran more and was generally more positive.

Lukaku was awful.

The whole team performance was poor apart from our defending. I dont think ts right to pick out any individual for criticism yesterday when there was just a collective failure to cope with City.

Yep Werner was probablt our best player yesterday. Made several runs without being picked out and also the only player to press. Oukaku was good awful

Werner had a great first half and wasn't bad in the 2nd half but the 2 up front had precious little to work with, next to nothing in the 2nd half.

Not for me, on Werner being great.
I do agree that Lukaku and Werner did have little to work with though, but the little Werner had in an advantageous position didn't produce enough quality to outmanuvoure or lay a glove on their defence.

Sorely missed the presence of two number 10's behind Lukaku, having a link in between the lines is crucial in hurting City.
Two up top should only be used as a secondary formation, in my view.

And the two up top should be Havertz & Lukaku.

He ran his socks off, seemed to work well with Rom and made some great runs, that were not fed. He also worked tirelessly to win the ball back. Part of the reason I think we saw less of him in the 2nd half is because I'm pretty sure he was knackered.

tosh we rarely give away goals and even the goal city scored was a lucky deflection Jesus said so himself. anyway wtf does an arsenal fan know about what goes on in the top four.

Yes chatting rubbish

We completely outplayed City in Cup semi and would have won 4-1 at the Etihad if Werner could stay onside when he scores

We were better side in CL final too, Werner this time staying onside and missing chances

Cup semi possession 45.55
League game Etihad 52/48. First team to have more possession at City for ages
