Look out, Sparts played the FAT card.

I can't because I'm not fat. I'd also like to know what Ravel Morrison contributed. Stretton was a out of his depth but tried hard. Festy at least caused Swansea to play a bit deeper as they were scared of his pace. Didn't think he was offside for the two times he got away but the linesman thought different..

Lawrence should have opened his body and curled the ball in to the far corner. Instead he went near post twice. Very frustrating day. If we keep playing like that some team is going to give us a pasting.

Lawrence is a bang average forward, that's why he plays in the Championship.

He nearly always shoots straight at the goalie.

I could understand him having a go at the near post for his first shot, but when he fortuitously received the ball again the goal keeper was on the near post and he only had to play it straight to the far corner, but he still went near post. That's not bang average, that is rubbish.

But if say he's crap I'm being unfair.

He's Championship standard, needs 20 efforts for every goal

Actually there are very few decent strikers in the Championship this season otherwise our goal difference would be worse.

On the BBC match report Shinnie got the highest rating for a Derby player. MoM was Ben Hamer. Go figure ...

I saw, but like Brexit and Boris, getting the largest share of the vote doesn't mean it's a sensible decision. Can anyone tell me one good thing he did in the match? In fact the only bit of quality in the whole game was Knight's run and cross. Guess who failed to get their head on it?

It's astomishing to me that with all that is going on at our club and how well the players are applying themselves that all some of us want to do is to find something to criticise. We have a paper-thin squad and almnost every other team has players of better quality than we do in attacking and midfield areas. Yet we are competitive and that speaks volumes for character. What a bunch of whiners we have on here!

Yes, Vids, it does seem that one average performance draws the critics out. Let's be charitable and put it down to disappointment following much better earlier showings.

I wonder if I am right to be a bit concerned about Ravel's gradually diminishing impact on games. You would have thought that he would thrive against footballing teams but I hardly noticed him today. WR said his early withdrawal was purely tactical and indeed the change of tactics brought an improved response. I guess I'm raising this concern because of Ravel's history. I just hope he is not losing interest or motivation. as we really need his flair when at his best.

One more observation, re our lack of goals. I saw highlights of Fulham v Swansea and it stood out a mile that Mitrovic's goals were all first-time, no-nonsense strikes - no trying to shuffle onto a favourite foot, no trying to shift to a "better" angle, no hesitation whatsoever. Then compare that to the many missed opportunities we have witnessed through players not having an immediate "go" for goal. Don't give defences time to adjust say I!

That's an unusually wild generalisation for you, Vidal, but I can understand your frustration

By "bunch", I meant Scouse and Spart of course. They are like that pair of old farts from The Muppets, only without the charm.

Morning after view :
Morning all. Must admit like Vidal - I was a bit surprised at the criticism. We will get games when we do get over-run. We do have a paper thin squad and both our 1st choice Strikers out injured. When we play, because of how we play ie at 100% every game we're going to get jaded when we play 2 games in a week. For me, Swansea over-ran us, especially in the first half - but we still managed better chances than them....as we did against Sheff U last weekend.
So thoughts of the game / players.
1. Ryan Allsop looks an inspired signing
2. Shinnie was my MOM - a non-stop performance
3. Agree Ravel wasn't that effective - but I expect him to bounce back after the international break.
4. Surely Lawrence has to start scoring soon ???
5. Given we've had Jagielka, Stearman, Bielik, Baldock and CKR (that's almost half the team) out injured we're doing as "well as can be expected under the cirumstances"...
Have a great 2 weeks off guys....UTR

Well said TH.
I'm not sure what more people expect?
We have won 14 points through hard work over 11 games. That equivalent to 59 points over a season, when most were predicting relegation with the thin squad we had at the start.
In fact, it's almost enough to stay up even with the 12 point deduction.

A bit more realism is needed from some.

Yes, Ravel looks jaded. But given that he's only played 36 games in 4 years prior to joining us, it's not surprising he might struggle with stamina.

Don't expect miracles, just hope for them πŸ™

I think we are punching way above our weight at the moment. We all want the team to be better and for individuals to play better but Rooney can only use the tools at his disposal. Morrison is a player most would not have touched with a barge pole but he has done well. I’m sure the manager would like to have plenty of creative options for matches when he isn’t at his best but yesterday when we were getting outplayed I thought Rooney did the right thing in digging in, trying to use Ebosele’s pace as an outlet and scrapping out a point.

Neither Baldock nor Stretton are really capable of leading the line single-handedly and so as a team we are playing without a focal point. So in every game we are effectively playing with one hand behind our backs. It would be easy to use that as an excuse and for players to get demoralised and go out expecting defeat, as happened in our 11 point season. The fact that we are refusing to lie down makes me so proud of all those involved as well as giving great hope for the future if and when Rooney can add to the squad in whichever division we find ourselves.

The odds are still very much against us, especially if we get a few more points deducted. But if we can get out of embargo and add a couple of out of contract players, then with the hope of CKR and Bielik at some point, then we ought to be significantly stronger. Until then, to have squeezed out as many points as we have is a real achievement.

I went yesterday and agree that we played well and if Lawrence had scored, which he should have done, we would have had another 2 precious points and I would have had the perfect prediction of 1-0 with TL scoring in option C. Trust him to let me down.

I was disappointed with Bird, I think he needs to step up and get into the game a bit more. Pity we haven't got a centre forward, but I did notice Chris Martin scored the winner for Bristols!

I'm fed up with all these international breaks.
