You should be happy. They will be able to take PL flop Sancho off you.

They might have some sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah they might buy Naby Keita instead eh?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be a better move I agree.

Are we allowed to call them “the limb cutters”?

I don't think it's really fair to tar all Saudis with the same brush really.

The UK isn't exactly innocent in all this and the clubs with American owners can't say much either as the USA is the only country to have used nuclear weapons in a war I believe.

Gone are the days when a local owner buys a club where they grew up.

True but it’s Saudi royal family buying Newcastle and they are the ones that are criticised for their human rights abuses.

think there is a difference though between say an American businessman or family and a regime.

you cant really associate say the Glazers with US Foreign policy in the same way you can the Saudi royal family with the human rights issues in that country.

Pretty sure the Glazers are Republicans so they are as worthless as shat on the shoe.

Which goes to show I should have read the article!

What I would say though is that the UK Royal Family isn't above reproach and the UK government sell arms abroad. But yes, I agree, we shouldn't be allowing outside businesses to buy into football clubs if they're not whiter than white (difficult to gauge that I know).

We are getting the masterminds of 9/11 coming to the league and you all think it’s funny, disgrace

9/11 was an inside job btw.

Yeah but many people are critical of those institutions as well, and they aren’t using their wealth to buy a football club.

I’m kind of indifferent, unfortunately football is a global business and ethics don’t come into it. The bigger debate is whether football should allow a state to fund a football club, rather than whether the ethics of those states are deemed acceptable.

posted on 6/10/21

Moral bankruptcy aside it's good for the league and certainly good for Newcastle the City and let's face it, the North East could do with an injection of capital and prestige.

Plus they’ve suffered enough under Mike Ashley for all these years

Once business became more of a business with the advent of Sky etc this was always bound to happen. When you go on the stock exchange you always leave yourself open to be bought.

I agree on the state point but I'm sure they have legal teams in place that can distance themselves sufficiently to make it look it isn't a state purchase even if the rules were tightened.

But I don’t think football even care about that, look at PSG. That is literally a state run club, and they don’t even try to hide it, yet their president has been elected the chairman of the facking ECA and is on the executive board of UEFA.

Limb cutters, they own most of London and doing deals with the Royal family every other bloody day. We really are a special country, with folks sitting on their high horse.
