Be a good move for him, zero competition for Rangers in Acotland atm.

"If Rangers fans are to be honest with themselves, he ain't all that and he only won that singular honour because he didn't have any challenge."

Yes of course - he was only up against a side with resources which were not only greater than Rangers, but problem greater than the whole of the SPFL put together.

I guess on your thinking - Celtic's 9IAR is pretty much a sham as they had no challenge?

If you're going to WUM - put in a bit more effort

No chance that the new owners will go for Gerrard. They'll go for a top name with a track record of trophies.

Gerrard to Newcastle will be consigned to the dustbin of history along with Morelos to Porto and Kamara to Arsenal/Juventus.

if they want a more successful manager than gerrard they could get ronny deila in?

Neil Lennon is way more successful

I would imagine Newcastle will be getting a top manager , definitely not Gerrard

Way more successful as a manager.

Massively more successful as a player.

I think it would be likely that the new owners of Newcastle United will buy a proven manager. Conte and Rodgers could do a good job there.

The main reason for Newcastle to consider Gerrard would be the brand. The league position they’re in just now would be a huge challenge for Gerrard to take on.

It’s early days, but it’s looking that Bruce won’t be there for much longer.

Yeah

You guys should've kept him.

I hope at the very least he got a really good send off filled with admiration, recognition and reward for a bloody good job well done

Lennon and indeed Angie would both be ideal for Newcastle TBF.

Both are clearly 'chequebook' managers.

good point on Ange there.

say whats gerrards overall nett spend, players bought against players sold?

posted on 8/10/21

If Gerrard goes our main problem will be the loss of his ability to attract players that might otherwise go elsewhere. He's tactically replaceable though.

Far more likely Newcastle will go for someone like Zidane.

I’d pump him.

Haha - the expected reply.

Put it this way - the 2 players who have subsidised Angie's spending spree were already there, Ajer and French Eddie.

When Angie has nurtured and sold on one of 'his' players to balance the books then that would be a fairer point to look at. Until he has done that - he has blown millions on players and wages.

Starfelt looks as though he has potential though

If Rangers are the world's most successful football club, then Lennon is a hugely more successful player than Gerrard.

There can't be any sensible argument about that.

Given that 'Lenny' was far more successful than Gerrard then you would hope that he will be in the running for the Newcastle gig, no?
