Those two words (gentlemen and ladies) do actually mean something.
As for the actual reason why this is happening, I couldn’t care less. Transmen and transwomen can identify as whatever they feel compelled to. I’ll respect that.
If someone wants to identify as non binary, I’ll respect their wishes also. It doesn’t matter to me, and respecting them isn’t something that is hard for me to do.
On a different note, It is interesting Pranks that this is being posted on a football forum, when the talk over the last few days has been all about how intolerant Newcastle’s new owners are to lgbt rights…

They believe its a business decision that will benefit them in this day and age. Money rules everything. They will call you "your eminence" or "as$hole" if you want, whatever fattens the bank balance. They're reacting to society and markets. Simple.
