That was point Blank. Don’t think Lee Marvin was surfin or sky diving in that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Point Break remake was decent...but the original is one of my favourites...
"Hey I know you man...you're Johnny Utah"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no chance that you can adequately replace:
Patrick Swayze
Keanu Reeves
Gary Busy
Let alone all in the same movie.
All 3 of them legends in their own way.

Always enjoyed bram stokers but that was all about Gary oldman
Now there’s an actor
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he was so wooden that coppola apparently considered replacing the fake blood with cuprinol.
i did like him in the neon demon. though he was horrific in the remake of the day the earth stood still, which almost ruined a classic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It must be a sign of a good actor when it takes you while to realise it's actually him in the first place. True Romance springs to mind.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Draxl.
True Romance brilliant, influenced by Quentin Tarantino
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didnt he write it?

I think he was a screen writer for the movie
Yep, he did the screenplay
Sold it to generate funds for Reservoir Dogs if my memory is correct.
Love True Romance and on one hand I'm glad we got the version we did but on the other it would have been cool to see what Tarantino could have made.

A young James Gandolfini in that film as well. Brilliant film
Good remakes
- Little Shop of Horrors
- Casino Royale
- The Ring
Awful remakes
- Footloose
- The Magnificent Seven
- Mulan
The grudge was a decent remake too
The noise the creature/ person in those films creeps me out

My favourite scene in any film in true romance
Dennis hopper and Christopher walken face off when hoppers character knows he is a goner so engineers a quicker exit for himself
Such a brilliant scene
Best
The Thing - Masterpiece
Casino Royale - One of the greatest ever Bond Movies
Scarface - 80's excess at it's best and Tony Montana
Worst
Robocop - Pu55ywhipped no talent fluff
Point Break - another remake nobody asked for, or wanted.
Ghostbusters - Woke PC pandering SJW event of tragic proportions.
worst
1 Ring
2 The Hills Have Eyes
3 King Kong
although, I agree the remake of Oldboy was dire .......... but then most films that the Hollywood cuuntz steal from europe and/or asia are bastardised anyway
best
The Lord of the Rings - although technically the earlier version wasn't complete anyway..
Are we talking the animated musical of Return of the King IAmMe?

Apologies to the OP and previous posters for the cheap shot and repetitive comment, respectively.
The all female ghostbusters was awful. Not quite a remake though
The 82 thing creature effects are probably still the best ever. Great movie. So horrific and inventive. Should have had an Oscar for that.

Home alone was shiiiit.
The talented Mr Ripley is a pretty decent remake IMO. Watched it again recently.
The Bourne Identity is another one.
One that annoyed me was Total Recall. Didn’t require it.
Pretty much any blockbuster cowboy/gangster/crime film from the last 15 years is typically a remake…
