I've just seen "Stretford benders" written on a Utd thread.

Nah, mate. It does matter.

“Marque” signings are impressive. “Marquee” signings are just big tents.

Not quite sure on that Beeb

Lol

It refers to the name you put on the marquee to get punters through the door

Marquee signing sounds good to me. Never heard the word ‘marque’, not saying that is why it is wrong of course.

Thanks for the clarity, I had a moment when you look at the word and the more you look at it the more obscure it becomes.

I know that's not just me.

Weare used to be the king of dumb remarks, when mocking someone for for playing golf he went “FOOOOOOUUUUUUURRRR”, or when he was bragging about how much something cost he said something along the lines of £50 dollars & he also said that about someone’s mums profession

There was also that all time classic 606 thread where that guy was talking about swimming uphill being tougher than downhill or something

Reminds me of a collection of commentators bloopers where the commentator said "The new stand casts a shadow over half the pitch, even on a sunny day"

Back on the original Tottenham 606, one poster created a total BS article about having ITK on player Spurs were linked to. It could have been Darrent Bent. Anyway he blagged he has insider stock exchange knowledge about the deal.

Some muppet journo from BBC website decided to run with it and created an article on their official BBC Football page 🤣🤣🤣. Everyone on the thread was howling.

Only OG's will remember it.

Want that TOOR arguing it was it was easier to play up a slope than down as its less distance to travel?

Mind boggling stuff.
