Sarr and Chalobah did well but we really missed Silva and Rudiger's calmness on the ball. Too many hoofs into the stands giving them opportunity after opportunity to get long throws into the box.
Mendy has comfortably been our best player this season. Main reason we've been so good defensively. Crazy that we still haven't conceded from open play in the PL.
Whole they were both okay, their inexperience nearly cost us at the end. I think this game will be great experience for them but we were lucky in the end. I think the real plaudits in defence should go to Christensen who nursed them through 72 fairly uneventful minutes during which we were in complete control of the game. But you could see Sarr was knackered by then and Chalobah was getting drawn into a fight with Toney and they both lost their control.
Mendy is turning out to be a worldie though!
No complaints from me, the boys all played well,especially the 5 at the back ,and Mendy of course, against a very resiient Beez team.
All in all ,another win and another clean sheet,well played lads.
Agree AC should be due a big raise in his new contract.
Understandable sarr was tired this is a whole new world for him. Seems like there is a good defender in him though. but does seem a like for like swap for zouma.

Creativity is at a bare minimum to supply Lukaku.
As usual...Missed the presence and influence of Cal (and Chilwell) combination play in forward positions.
The games Callum plays coincides with fluid forward play.
Oh not to forget Kovacic' final pass was diabolical throughout the duration of time on pitch. Worst performer on the field.

Lukaku can play as a target man, off the shoulder or a traditional centre forward but we are not playing football to suit any of these abilities. We have to look for through balls and start putting crosses into the box if we want him to score. Slow build-up is not his game.
Tuchel hasnt really figured out to use him yet

But hey we are top of the table and still teething
