Aribo definitely could have had a red, I think the fact he had no momentum behind him is probably what got him off with a yellow. It was a lazy, high tackle but absolutely no comparison with the way Porteous went flying in, honestly surprised his ban didn't get extended after the appeal because he was just out to hurt someone.
Devlin could have been off before that though - picked up an early yellow then got away with about a dozen more fouls after that. Both teams fortunate to end the game with 11.
The comparisons between Porteous and Aribo are ridiculous. Aribo was high as studs showing so could’ve been a red, but yellow is probably right decision.
Was no force, he made challenge from standing not at speed. And leg was bent, not straight like Porteous whic makes a big difference.
How folk can defend Porteous, then try and compare this one is just silly.
Lundstram one was more likely to be a red than Aribo.
Zico sees any dodgy tackle and thinks they all look the same.
I'm my opinion he could have went for it. But it wasn't straight leg. Fact is if you don't miss control the ball you don't need to lunge. Unlike him in fairness, great close control normally.

Replacement ref we had was atrocious. I get that he was not in a state of mind readiness to take the game but it meant that stuff was going unpunished then he was reacting to the reactions so that the next soft one was given. 2H should have been better but he looked nervous as fck.
VAR - I know they'll want to play at being big boys but there is no reason why the VAR centre cannot be subcontracted to another country that is up and running and maybe save the clubs some money in the process? Might help bring our interpretation standards into line with the rest of Europe?
