Think you are being hugely unfair on Dier, thought he played well and saw the ball late and no way could he avoid it hitting his knee.

But, why does it always happen to him ?

Dier was excellent today. Huge error but he couldn't do much about it. He has done well all season. In on merit for me.

It was a freak OG.

Dier had a good game and has had a good season.

‘Supporter’?

It was a set piece where he had time to see the whole thing, it was hardly a last minute deflection during open play. Plus he was the one who gave away the cheap cheap free kick - shows how important it is to not give away needless fouls

Maybe it happens to Dier more because he plays way more then the other defenders? Also he throws his body on the line and sometimes it leads to a mistake.

I thought he was good today up until his one man cluster fack, he gives a needless free kick away and then scores an own goal from it, which ruined his performance.

Only Spurs could dominate a game as much as that and end up with only a 1 goal victory, we should have been scoring 4, 5 and 6 but took the foot off the pedal and nearly paid the price.

Continuously make excuses for him.

Freak OG??? He tried to header it below his waist? Forgot he had feet.

The problem with Dier is he looks top class until the inevitable silly mistake or two which comes every game.

Tbf it happens to Sanchez as well, and Aurier before his departure

I was saying to myself when Newcastle went down to 10 men just don't give away stupid free kicks. Moments later Dier does exactly that. It could have been anyone unlucky with the og and it would still be Dier to blame. At his age he should now know better and deserves criticism for it no matter how well he performed.

This. It’s pointless having good games if round the corner, you always end up costing us goals. Exactly the same against Wolves. If it wasn’t for Traore, he would have cost us points.

Harsh on him today he was decent and just no reaction time for the OG.

I suspect he starts because he’s your best cb.

You could see that finish coming a mile off.

Spurs consistently do two things in every game.

1. Get a lead and try to "manage" the rest of the game, even if there is 60/70 minutes left. Look at Liverpool on Saturday. Dominating Watford, and not letting them off the hook, winning 5-0. We just can't seem to do that ( which we should have done today )

2. Someone across the back 4 HAS to make a mistake that results in a nervy last 5/10 minutes. They just can't seem to help themselves.

That game should have been 5-1. The fact that we played so well and it still ended 3-2 was poor. Our GD should be positive or at least neutral tonight
