What's an "or so" of a point? like 5.0000orso points, or 5.0orso0000 points?

op does have a point, there does seem amongst some united fans a curious attachment to the manager in general, maybe that is an inevitable consequence of having had (one of) the best of all time in charge for so long, possibly currently exacerbated by having a former player in charge.

but the average tenure of a pl manager now is just over 2 years, and whilst some would point to how long pep and klopp have been given, ole's already survived longer than ranieri/jose's return to chelsea/conte, and is closing in on pellegrini, all of whom won the title before being chopped (and we could even throw in di matteo and avram grant if we want to).

and i do find it a bit odd that some fans are so dismissive of a call to sack the manager, but are quite willing to heap vitriol and abuse on the players.

Very relevant for our fanbase though. For far too long dissenting voices were shut down by the "rose-tinted" ones.
We as a club have become like Pied Piper followers. Walking towards our own destruction unless there is a fundamental change of discourse amongst our fanbase.

Red Indian wants us to turn into Chelsea or Real Madrid. We are Man United and we do things OUR way. This clown would've sacked Fergie in 1989, but then again he was most likely born in 2001 and is used to the good times.

Ole in. Red Indian OUT.

Its a cultural thing where a chunk of our fanbase (especially the Stretford Enders) think that makes us morally superior to the morally bankrupt clubs like the Oily clubs ,Spanish giants etc.

This practice of shutting down dissenting voices has continued since Fergie. I had critical views about SAF's management in his final couple of years but those voices were shut down by "We are still winning innit?"

Now that we have won fack all after he left those voices have changed the narrative to "We support all our managers" and "We are not like other clubs". As if its a good thing. Our fans are causing the biggest damage to the club.

If Norwich or Watford sacked their latest manager and the only two options they had available were Ole and Sam Allardyce. They'd choose Sam Allardyce, you might laugh but it wouldn't be far from the truth.

Ole has had 6 or 7 transfer windows now hasn't he? He still hasn't bought 1 midfielder and he sold our best midfielder (not his fault though but not replacing him was Ole's fault).

Honestly if we had Pep or Klopp with this squad we would be challenging for titles and winning a couple of tin pot cups like league cups. Ole is a substandard manager and has been backed way more than anyone.

City have had 3 managers in 12 years.

Al 3 have won the title

I just want what's best for the club, long term, short term, all the time. I've never classed myself as Ole in or out, I have wanted him to do well for us from the start because of who he is and how great it would be to see him win things with us, so I've probably given him longer than I would've done for someone like Jose who was supposedly meant to 'guarantee' success and titles (top titles). I think it's time for us to move on from him though as I don't think he's showing enough as a manager to take us further than he has done. I also don't think the football is good enough to give him leeway for not winning things, if we were great to watch but fell at the final hurdle repeatedly, you'd be more forgiving.

So I'm now on the 'Ole out' side I guess. But as a match going fan, when I'm in the ground and the whistle blows for kick off the team on the pitch and the manager will always get my support and I will always want them to get the win. If that's toxic then yeah I'm a toxic fan.

Allardyce is actually a better manager than Ole. Would have made our defense more stronger than what Ole has. 4 clean sheets in 17 games now isn't it? Unacceptable and yet fans still want to give him time.

As there twenty clubs in the PL that means nineteen managers are sacked every year.
It seems a lot to me.
Now that mediocre seems to be going out of fashion we've moved onto toxic. That is fashionable because it's easier to type on a phone than poisonous.

It certainly seems strange to me to choose faithful supporters, who pay a lot of money, to support the club through thick and thin and call them 'toxic'
The only possible explanation is that the writer is stupid.

Hoping that Ole turns out to not be good enough is a million miles away from thinking he isn't good enough.

I'm the latter but I'm hoping to be proved wrong.

Supporting the club doesn't mean acting blind and putting down dissenting voices. That is what OT regulars have done over the years. It worked when Fergie was here. It's similar to someone ignoring all red flags in their cheating gf just because she has great tids.

Now we no longer have Fergusson, its the match day going fans who should be shouting for change instead they bury their heads in the sand and keep singing "Ole at the wheel". We are becoming a laughing stock. Our opponents want us to give Ole another 6 year contract. Tell me what does that say?
