Howard Kendall is the closest I can think of really. Even that's going back 40 years.

It certainly seems strange to me to choose faithful supporters, who pay a lot of money, to support the club through thick and thin and call them 'toxic'

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Supporting the club doesn't mean acting blind and putting down dissenting voices. That is what OT regulars have done over the years. It worked when Fergie was here. It's similar to someone ignoring all red flags in their cheating gf just because she has great tids.

Now we no longer have Fergusson, its the match day going fans who should be shouting for change instead they bury their heads in the sand and keep singing "Ole at the wheel". We are becoming a laughing stock. Our opponents want us to give Ole another 6 year contract. Tell me what does that say?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You've clearly never been to a match tbf as you're talking out your backside and it shows.

There is plenty of moaning and groaning within the ground on matchdays when the football is poor and players are passing it around slowly side to side. Just because fan's still sing certain songs in the terrace it certainly doesn't mean they are happy with everything. I've also not seen people having their dissenting voices 'put down' so I'm not sure where you're coming from on that one.

Also, if you can't/won't buy a ticket to a game, try hanging around outside OT afterwards or in one of the pubs, there are many match going fans not happy with the current performances and are pretty vocal about it after the games, and plenty of talk about Ole whether he's good enough or who they'd want to come in to replace him.

Basically your article should just say;

"When I watch TV I've not heard the whole stadium chanting OLE OUT in unison and the owners won't sack him until they do"

Bit late to this party, but well put Mike.

The OP and a couple of his mates on here have dreamed up this weird idea that there is some kind of army of brainwashed Ole fan boys amongst our support, ready to murder any of the brave souls who speak up against it.

It doesn't exist - not even amongst match-going fans W&R, I can assure you.

There are plenty of United fans both on here and in the outside world who have not been on board with Ole being at the helm from the start. The reason they don't get 'shut down' and you do is because they can put forward their points with reason, logic and objectivity, whereas you are an idiot who speaks in extreme hyperboles, and calls people who disagree with you 'f@gs' and 'benders'.

It really isn't hard to understand. I have tried to explain this to you before but you don't seem to get it. Probably because, as I said, you are an idiot.

Bloodred

I don’t think there is any ‘probably’ about it. He ignores everything he gets told on here. He is an utter imbecile.

OP, some idiots on this board take pride in supporting a losing team and a stupid manager. It helps them convince themselves that they are the true fans, while those who want to win trophies are “plastics”. Ole has given them a sense of identity: they were just fans, now they are “true fans”.

Allow me to quote Bloodred, if I may:

This was only a couple of comments ago, it's like you refuse to read things like this, or it just doesn't square with this strange construct you've created in your own heads

Yep, one of the idiot mates I was talking about.

This guy is quite possibly more stupid than W&R to be fair.

In the last hour or so I've read that Zidane 'would be open to manage United' and that Conte 'would be willing to sacrifice his severance pay' if needed quickly.

Maybe nothing in it but I actually wouldn't be surprised now if Ole is coming to the end. Whether it's the sack or mutual agreement.

Ooh, there's a question...

Conte or Zidane?

That'd be a much more interesting thread than this one, I suspect.

Out of the two of them probably Conte in truth. Think he's a bit more proven than Zidane in different situations.

Zidane would certainly command respect though and would be a presence on the touchline certainly.

Like I said there maybe nothing too it but this does feel like the end. It could be a longish goodbye, and this week could be like the week we beat Newcastle 3-2 under Jose when speculation was rife, but I just have a feeling it could be it.

I've read rumours that the owners aren't delighted with the Newcastle takeover either, yet another club competing for that CL revenue.

The time to spend and ring-fence is now, before they get going. They failed to do that with City, and look how that's turned out.

You've spent a lot of money trying to ring-fence it already.
