Scales ? well you would have to ask why hes not starting
=======

i'll take a guess at this one, he's come from the LOI and needs to up his game to compete at this level.

i'd imagine he's turned up to training and not looked as sharp as montgomery, boli, or taylor, he's probably getting rinsed off jota daily.

i thought he looked quite solid last night tbh, but he was never going to be first team ready.

wouldn't mind seeing Abada dropped at the weekend and Giamouakis starting

Hart
Ralston
CCV
Starfelt
Boli/Monty/Scales

McGregor
Turnbull
Rogic

Jota
GG
Kyogo

then for Hibs bring Bitton back in to the midfield

rogic and turnbull together isn't working is it.

i kinda feel neither is getting to play the role they want because of it as well.

Ideally mcgregor would move up, maybe put bitton in front of the back 4 instead.

see tbh, we need a box to box midfielder, rogic and turnbull are luxuries and we can only afford one of them.

i'd pick rogic tbh

Aye Abada just seems to be off it just now for whatever reason

what about the wee cameo from MJ ? that must have given Ange food for thought

Also GG - is he going to do an overhead kick every game ? He looked better tlast night if still a bit jumpy on the ball
But Turnbull should have laid him in for his first goal

McCarthy needs to step up and take that role in front of the back 4 and if hes not got the engine anymore then thats a position that id be hoping we fill in Jan from the east(Park Ji-Sung style player).

Definetly an option and thats what he switched to late on and it set up the second

mcgregor was fanatastic yesterday , in both roles

i'm not expecting much from GG but i thought he looked decent last night, very strong, jumped about 8 feet in the air to win a header at one point

i was looking for holding midfielders in the j league last night to see what might interest Ange if its a market he is looking to exploit.

the 2 names i dished out on the other article are not holding midfielders at all, but they look cracking.

He looks a different proposition for the opposition
a man on a mission in that position
he might be a good addition , certainly not a technician by any admission

I think he likes McGregor at the base of the midfield taking the ball from the centre halfs and moves the ball quickly

Bitton has always insisted on taking 2/3 touches before releasing the ball

when bitton came on last night i said he was infuriating, because he is easily the best passer of the ball at the club.

then he passed the ball out the park

Bitton done himself no favours last night when he came on

a bit of a shambles

mental how last year we couldn't beat Ferencvaros but this year we could.

i think having fans in the stadium is a help to some, and a hindrance to others.

playing a striker helps also

it helps spook some visiting players but others thrive off it

without doubt the biggest influence it has for me is on ref decisions

Thought Giakoumakis was very good when he came on and Mikey Johnston was even better. It's starting to come together for us.

Forrest when fit will take Abada's place and be a huge asset for us and Jullien to come back in too as well as Juranovic. With the team starting to gel and play the system better, as long as we avoid another injury crisis, there's no reason we can;t win this league.

need to get to january, options needed in the middle of the park.

thought the subs done well last night.

not like Johnston take me there, wee whank will be injured again next week.

Johnston always wants to go forward with the ball, Abada seems hesitant to do it, always playing the safe pass backwards

posted on 20/10/21

Abada looks to have lost confidence a bit, his debut against Mydjitand he was so direct and pacey, and whipped a few cracking balls in but yesterday he looked sluggish and unwilling to take his man on. Defo needs a rest. Is Johnston upto playing 90mins though? As good as he was yesterday I was fearful every time he broke into a sprint.

Boli takes Montgomery's place easily for Sat btw.

if forrest was in the form abada is in right now he would be crucified for it.

looking forward to getting more players back and having a bench that could change a game.

delighted with how this month is going so far, if we can win our 2 league home games and win at easter road its been a terrific month.

Aye defo mate, said it before the Motherwell game, this period before the next break is crucial to how our season will go. Good start but need to stay consistent. Tough league games for both teams before the break

That’s Steve Bruce left Newcastle.
