Disgraceful how he was treated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
😂 how was it disgraceful? He walks away with £8 million after a very uninspiring spell as manager of Newcastle. The fans wanted him gone long before the Saudis took over. Bruce has walked out on numerous teams before he took over at Newcastle for a better offer and left a trail of bad feeling among those clubs.
He was very lucky to last as long as he did at Newcastle
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He got mountains of abuse for pretty much doing the same job as his predecessor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Benitez did a much better job and if you talk to any Newcastle fans they’ll tell you how cowardly Bruce was when setting up his teams. He really was woeful at Newcastle and has been deservedly sacked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Benitez is a better manager but the results were pretty much the same. It’s the personal abuse that’s the issue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The fans - and I do know a few Newcastle fans - hated how negatively he set up the side. That is unforgivable amongst that fan base. He outstayed his welcome long ago which is why he was abused. Of course he shouldn’t have been abused but it’s the same for any manager who stays too long.

I doubt it. Sadly.

Brucie's win ratio at the Barcodes is appalling.
It hasn't helped that nobody connected to the club wanted him in the first place, and he has received dogs abuse ever since from just about everybody...and also it hasn't helped that Brucie's tenure came at the end game of the Ashley era where the financial backing to the club was almost non-existent ... but Bruce certainly hasn't helped himself with his record.
Pretty sure he will pack all this managerial malarkey in now with his payout.
He might develop his Cabbage Head persona
Shame for him but is was inevitable once the change of ownership happened.
Felt sorry for him, genuinely did a good job at Newcastle in the main but have been quite poor this season given the resources available up until now but still got a load of stick regardless. Thought he did a solid job overall and didn't deserve some of the dogs abuse he suffered from the fans really.
The next manager is so hard to predict given the stature of some of the names involved. Could be a steady, expected appointment or a Zidane, who knows.
Apparently he wasn't 'sacked'.
Plenty people will take the job - the desperate and the greedy. Proper big names will hang back and want to be the 4th or 5th manager once the project is ready to win something other than the championship.

He will be back, I fancy him to rock up somewhere in the Championship.
Or maybe he will commit full time to being an author

For the sake of pure mischief/justice I would love if just one footballer was brave/stupid/legendary enough to score a goal at St James Park this season when the Saudis are in attendance and remove his shirt when celebrating to reveal a T-shirt underneath with the face of Jamal Khashoggi. And then the TV cameras showing the reaction of the owners.
"Or maybe he will commit full time to being an author"
Hopefully, I reckon he could do a midfielder! book next, it's what we all want.

There’s more chance of George RR Martin finishing his epic tome than Steve Bruce giving us the conclusion to his own literary masterpiece series.

Apparently it’s gonna be Paulo Fonseca. Hope he likes managing in the championship
Whoever it is I hope it doesn't work out and they go down. This regime is even worse than the ones already tarnishing the sport.
Newcastle in the championship with supposed access to 320bn would be hilarious. Nothing more than they deserve.
