Brucie will always be the man who scored 'those two goals' that sent Fergie on his way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely. I remember listening to the game on the radio and celebrated like a madman. Kids of today will never know the fun of listening to football on the radio. Dolly and Daisy, a great partnership for us, just a shame that Bruce never played for England.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
watching a game in silence on BBC Ceefax was even more interesting.

Used to love it when two red cards on opposing teams came up at the same time and you’d know there’d been a scrap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My schedule was ceefax during the game. Page 302 if I remember correctly and then at half time over to bamboozle on teletext or whatever the channel 4 version was called.

Ah the 'Clubcall' favourites Batistuta and Salas!

Indeed
Can everyone please stop hoping Newcastle get relegated? It's bad enough having to put up with Norwich financially bullying the Championship every second season without having to worry about a further two drubbings from a state owned team with the worst away end in the country.

I was sat on the front doorstep listening on my radio. It was a warm sunny day as I recall. Strangely I was the only kid on the street that liked football. The rest of the kids all laughed as I ran around the front garden when the winner flew in. Good times.

The game is kicking off in around the park
It's twenty five a side and before it's dark
There's gonna be a loser
And you know the next goal wins
Sums up my childhood in relation to football.

No wonder you were kept apart from the other kids.
