Neither should be anywhere near the starting XI of Tottenham Hotspur at their age. They are not ready yet, they should be getting minutes here and there from the bench in the least important games when already winning comfortably.

Agreed but Bergwijn and Co are no better mate. I see nothing in Steven Bergwijn that will ever be anything other than a bang average footballer. Can’t score. Can’t pass. Can’t shoot. That’s the player have as back up in attack, along with 2 rookie 17 year olds. It’s an absolute joke. Winks, Ali, Doherty and Davies are also horrendous. Sanchez and Dier, comical. I reckon 70% of our squad we could sell and wouldn’t miss them one bit

I think we all know that the squad needs strengthening in several areas.
Most of these areas are in the back up positions.
Dons list above is promoting that we sell 8 players and replace and while & I dont disagree with all of them, it is not realistic that this will happen at once.
It will take time, and can only happen in the windows.
So lets stop moaning on and on and one when nothing can be done about in until Jan and then the summer.
People also need to reflect on the fact that these players are largely backup. The quality one can sign and afford is limited when they are support players...so you have to be realistic about players who will be back up to our first XI stars - its the same everywhere. Whoever is back up to Salah, VVD, Lukaku, KDB is going to be at a lower level .
Clearly some of our backups are duds but a lot of them are "back-up grade"
Moneybags Newcastle are our best hope for getting a good price for Dele. I think he is the sort of player they will be targeting. They won't get top tier players straightaway. Hopefully they wrongly assume Dele can be a good player for them.

No offence Don, but you were quick to want Poch replaced and delighted we appointed Mourinho.
Dele is not playing well enough, that is obvious, but neither are several others. But we do know Dele has it in his locker if used correctly. He was outstanding under Poch up until the last few months when he had injury problems, since then he has barely been used to his strengths, which is playing off Kane in and around the box. He does not fit the current tactics / style of play, that does not mean he is a bad player.

Agreed. Doubt we would sell them all in January. At a push maybe two or three. It would have to be done in stages I'm guessing. I would still like to see how Bergwijn and GLC perform between now and the end of the season.

But will Dele be prepared to go to Newcastle and fight for relegation? If I was his agent I would tell him to stick at Spurs until the end of the season, at least. Even if he is not picked for the first team.
With his off field fashion interests he might be better of in London. I can see Newcastle being interested in him but I can't see him wanting to go there as much I would love him to go. His contract expires 2024. A move abroad might be best for him.

That’s the player have as back up in attack, along with 2 rookie 17 year olds. It’s an absolute joke. Winks, Ali, Doherty and Davies are also horrendous. Sanchez and Dier, comical. I reckon 70% of our squad we could sell and wouldn’t miss them one bit

Dele is on £150k-£200k a week. Who is gonna buy him with those wages?
The rest can be sold for less than £25-£30m.
Davies, Sanchez and Dier are not even home grown for English clubs, then factor in Levy's estimation of each player and we are funked.
Winks and Doherty should be sold for peanuts because that is what they are worth anyway.

I think we all know that the squad needs strengthening in several areas.
Most of these areas are in the back up positions.
Dons list above is promoting that we sell 8 players and replace and while & I dont disagree with all of them, it is not realistic that this will happen at once.
It will take time, and can only happen in the windows.
So lets stop moaning on and on and one when nothing can be done about in until Jan and then the summer.
People also need to reflect on the fact that these players are largely backup. The quality one can sign and afford is limited when they are support players...so you have to be realistic about players who will be back up to our first XI stars - its the same everywhere. Whoever is back up to Salah, VVD, Lukaku, KDB is going to be at a lower level .
Clearly some of our backups are duds but a lot of them are "back-up grade"

Moneybags Newcastle are our best hope for getting a good price for Dele. I think he is the sort of player they will be targeting. They won't get top tier players straightaway. Hopefully they wrongly assume Dele can be a good player for them.

I see that since Aurier and Sissoko have left, Dele is now the scapegoat for our bad performances. There are far worse footballers in our squad that need moving on before Dele. Dele is a proven PL performer if used correctly, he won`t be playing well if it is alongside dross like Winks, Davies, Sanchez and a kid such as Scarlett. Those 3 have never reached the heights that Dele has and never will. Dele is a good player being used incorrectly, so there is no wonder his performances have dipped.

No offence Don, but you were quick to want Poch replaced and delighted we appointed Mourinho.
Dele is not playing well enough, that is obvious, but neither are several others. But we do know Dele has it in his locker if used correctly. He was outstanding under Poch up until the last few months when he had injury problems, since then he has barely been used to his strengths, which is playing off Kane in and around the box. He does not fit the current tactics / style of play, that does not mean he is a bad player.

Agreed. Doubt we would sell them all in January. At a push maybe two or three. It would have to be done in stages I'm guessing. I would still like to see how Bergwijn and GLC perform between now and the end of the season.
Wonder if Kane and Ndombele will still want out in Jan too?

Aside from him staying in London because of off field fashion interests being everything that's wrong with football, I would like to see him go abroad and do well. Dortmund might be a good fit for him.
