Struijk was good. Cooper was good. Think Phillips in for Struijk next game.

Don't think anyone had a bad game. Not really sure how anyone can call Roberts lazy.

Struijk played well. Nothing special but did the job

Agreed, I thought he was great. His positioning, tackling and distribution were excellent today. Defence was sound, just one mistake we got punished for. Summerville is a serious upgrade on Costa, but we cannot hide from our woeful finishing overall and poor decision making around the box.

Good point, but losing Raph is huge. Would have been better to lose and him be fit and healthy. HUGE game next.

I can cos he is, one example ten minutes after he comes on he loses the ball and makes no effort to try to win the ball back, typical of him, right in front of the tv cameras. Too many Roberts apologists on here at times.

Jog on you get. He works his socks off constantly. I get you want the young lads to get more chances, but try to do that without it involving relentless nonsense.

You can question Roberts' end product, but his effort and engine? Nah.

Bull. Roberts has always been lacking in that side of his game - except today. Thought he put in a great shift today and didn't try to do the stupid stuff that makes everyone p'd off with him

Yeah, replacing Phillips is no easy task.
Next game I'd have him replacing cooper.

Again, left questioning if you or Elsbels watch us play, or know which player Roberts is if you do. He runs constantly. Maybe not so much as Bamford, but certainly enough. Lazy? Genuinely no clue.

And saying something about Roberts apologists? What? Do you not frequent online? The exact opposite. Whatever Roberts does gets criticised under the microscope. Imagine coming away from that game and having the temerity to call Roberts lazy. Absolutely appalling set of takes.

May Roberts get peeed off at making runs and demanding the ball but getting ignored.

He did well when he came on. He wanted the ball and wanted to win. He’s not world class but he’s good enough for this league.

Roberts played well when he came on. Interesting that Rodrigo played much better when he sat in behind Roberts in the second half. Bielsa sees something in behind playing behind the striker - hopefully this can come to consistent fruition when Bamford is back

Also, theres never been anything more nailed on in the history of the universe than a Leeds defeat against Norwich next weekend.

I suspect there will be a huge correlation between the names that constantly criticise roberts performance every week and the names that thought Struijk played DM against Southampton.

Havefaith, you generally post very thoughtful comments...

I've been criticising Roberts for some time. You can't deny he hasn't exactly set us alight, that he's blown a lot of good chances, that he misplaces a lot of passes. There are moments of genius, he's quick enough, and he seems to have a good footballing brain, but he simply hasn't done well consistently for us at any point during the entire period of Bielsa's time at Leeds.

And I didn't know what Struijk or anyone was doing at Southampton, and I don't think they did either.

Roberts isn’t great. No where near the level of Raphinha.

But he’s no where near as bad as some fans make out. And he’s been solid in pretty much every game this season. Yet fans single him out anyway despite worse performances around him. The abuse/bullying he receives online is vile.

It’s similar to blame attached to Cooper when we lose regardless of how well he has played.

And Struijk was playing CB against Southampton. He was our deepest player with the exception of Meslier.

The point is that that moment made it so obvious fans make decisions about performances of certain players before the game has kicked off. To the point where they can make up a criticism of something that so obviously didn’t happen.

I think Roberts bashing is the norm for some supporters these days. My mates son text me when he’d played to say he was a wage thief. Every time he plays he messages something derogatory about him.

Same on here and on Twitter - some just can’t help themselves.

Why can’t they just acknowledge that after he came on, with the other subs, we actually looked like we might equalise?

I guess they are the type who just have to pick on someone. I saw one idiot tweeting that Cooper was rubbish after one of his best games in a Leeds shirt. Cooper actually tweeted him back. Players see these things and as a supporter I would never tag one in to a slagging off.

100% with you on this Stoopo
Roberts is still a young player (22) with an unusual skill-set and style. He's not constantly injured anymore, becoming physically stronger. He can be very quick-witted. I reckon he'll hit the peak of his game when he's about 25, and I really hope he's still playing for Leeds when does
I get totally sickened by the never-ending pile-on from a section of our support.
