Was watching us the other day and something is missing from the midfield.

Imo, its john mcginn, that kind of player.

Enough of kyogo out wide. Doesnt work

Good solid win for us on Saturday, the game was entering that dodgy period, even though St Johnstone never threatened at all, but even a couple of set pieces towards the end would have caused a bit of angst in the crowd given the scoreline. In these games you need to take the chances when they come and we did that with GG's goal....which was a tidy finish. Despite dominating the play, chances were few and far between. Great to see him get his goal and he played well but it's to the detriment of Kyogo who gets ushed out wide and is not as effective so not ideal in that sense but good to have options.

The Kane/CCV flashpoint is an embarrassment from the ref, in terms of booking CCV Kane probs should have been off, 2 kicks and a swipe at the face.

Massive game for us on Weds, Hibs aren;t on a good runn but we never seem to play well at Easter Rd, and have not won any of our past 6 league meetings there since they came back up. We did win in the cup but it's not a good ground for us to visit so gonna be a nervy one.

I seen the first half of the Rangers game yesterday, St Mirren looked comfortable first 20-25 minutes and then Rangers stepped it up and totally dominated, still think Rangers look like they're lacking intensity and are a lot weaker at the back than last season

Seen the highlights of our game, sounds like a run of the mill victory, exactly what you're looking for after a midweek European tie and before a massive trip to Easter Road

You can tell Ange has tweaked his approach since the winter break, we're controlling games a lot better now and the game management has improved, it's not as gung-ho as it was earlier in the season

For the next week or so we have him before he's injured again, MJ will be a great option to have.

100 Rangers goals for Morelos

35th player in Rangers history to hit the 100
3rd player to do it this century
2nd foreign player in our history to hit 100 & 4 goals away from being our top scoring overseas player of all time
99 goals from open play, only 1 penalty
Scored against every domestic team he has faced with 1 exception
Our top scorer in Europe of all time.

Wee man gets some amount of rubbish said about him and has been written off more than once or twice but what a player he is for us.

He's been a good rangers player.

Certainly at the right club imo...

Juranovic played well but it's still frustrating to see him shoe horned in at left back when there are a few LBs there. It is hard to drop Ralston and he did get a good assist on Sat(even though he had 2 or 3 shocking crosses before that) but I would like to see Jura settled in at RB. Takes a good pen which is good.

One can only pash with the boaby in situ
I will say European records and cap numbers etc have been skewed by the number of games we now play but he’s still doing well against his peers in the same time frame

----------------------------------------------------------------------
i was thinking more of his strike rate a goal every 2nd game is phenomenal

----------------------------------------------------------------------

He absolutely is and if fans are honest it's what they want to see from their front men. Rangers have had plenty of "nice" players in recent years, it's good for the game to have a pantomime villain at the club that people already want to hate.

Great player no, he's actually a very odd player. He's better than he looks on the eye but everything he does is so raw. You can tell he's never set foot in an elite academy but in many ways it's what works so well for him.

He's nowhere near the quality of a finisher like Boyd, doesn't have the pace or game intelligence of a Miller, he's nowhere near as technically gifted as Jelavic, not as skillful as Mols and not as physically imposing as Prso. You would actually struggle to pinpoint what he is talented at when you break his game down in to attributes and then you add in the number of cards over his 4 years which tops the lot put together.

Yet his record is better than every one of them and you would probably find a lot of fans who have more love for him than anyone else who has played for us in recent years.

I wonder if Saturday was due to a lack of LB's? No Bolingoli or Scales on the bench indicated injuries rather than form to me.

I agree though that Ralston has proven himself to be a capable squad player but for me does not start when all are fit

posted on 25/10/21

Id have to think boli or scales will get a start at left back over juranovic.

I still dont like the style, pushing a player as limited as ralston into the middle while rogic and turbnull drfit wide.

You essentially have 4 players in positions they dont want to be

Enjoyed the game on Saturday

Way more up beat about GG now , he looked fine .and i think the type of goal he scored at the weekend is exactly what we will get from him

Jota is worth the gate money just now , great work ethic and has all the abilty to produce at any given moment
What about his ball to Kyogo for the pen ?

Hibs will be a good game , but confident in our team just now , we will get the job done

we have good options in the team , all the thing that were missing when people weere saying things like Angeball and greek pedro alot - not hearing that so much now

On Morelos and this is an aye bit comment

How many of his european goals have come in quaifiers and how many in the main competitons? The reason I ask is the great players and goalscorers played at a time with no qualifiers and for some no group stages.

A goal is a goal but how would he compare against the likes of McCoist if McCoist had 6 qualifier games against weaker opposition to score against

posted on 25/10/21

mental that the game isnt on the tV on Wednes day , thats a decent game to show for viewing figures
Bt sport showing the italian league and SS showing the Carabao cup

ifs, buts, maybe for me.

The level of teams between us in europe now compared to back then is night and day. No longer can rangers and celtic be expected to compete never mind beat the like of Bayern, Man City's even at home nowadays. Before it was more than possible.

There is a reason why we are playing so many qualifiers nowadays.

Heard a few people say this but you could level it out by saying Morelos did in 4 seasons what McCoist did in 15. I can remember McCoist scoring in games against the likes of FC Gotu from the Faroes and the likes as well.

Morelos has scored against teams from Portugal, Spain, Poland, Holland, Croatia, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium etc and 2 years ago was joint top scorer in the Europa League. So think it's a tad harsh to put it down to playing cannon fodder.

I'd say the criticism of Morelos this season has came from his own manager

He's a good player, been a great signing for Rangers, I think he's the main reason they've been so good in Europe over the last 3/4 years
