Thought we were pretty shat throughout.

Best team first half. James should have scored. Harrison nearly did. I thought we did well until the sub at HT. lost our way after Klich came on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We weren't good in the first half. Seems to be the prevailing opinion that we were.

Too many bad decisions. Too much time spent making those bad decisions.

We never look like scoring which is worrying

Is there a worse cup side than Leeds United.
Would love to see some statistics of average league position versus cup progression post war. Surely we are the worst. 1 poxy cup final in my 48 years and that was a disaster on the day. Garbage cup performance again from the club. Never looked like creating anything.

So do we think Gelhardt should start against Norwich?
Surely he is a better option than Roberts.

Gelhardt was anonymous and ineffective today. Highlights that he shouldn't be rushed into starting games and being more involved.

Let him be an impact player.

So we learned what Geldhardt can do when he is given the grand total of 13 minutes to get into the game and play alongside Rodrigo and James 😒

Meanwhile, once again, Tyler starts and does nothing of note in virtually an hour.

He won't score if we don't create

We’re just a soft touch. Such poor goals to concede. We hardly ever win scruffy games. We created very little, but I don’t recall them creating anything we didn’t gift wrap.

Shame you missed 72

And no. There isn’t a worse cup side than us.

Some very very bizarre substitutions cost us that game unfortunately.

Had over half an hour on the pitch, and barely touched the ball. Not saying he's a bad player, but should highlight that rushing him into a game isn't the answer.

I'd try a three of James, Raph, and Harrison behind Rodrigo. Would be tempted to start Forshaw, if any slightly radical change was neede.

Only tuned in for the second half and shouldn't have bothered.

Two soft goals.

Cooper's been a giant of late but you can guarantee a clanger every now and again.

No creativity at all that I saw - we need a new midfield maestro.

Lots of negative passing along the back line, putting Meslier under pressure for no good reason.

At least the young players got some minutes - that's about the only thing we can take away from this.

But it also puts a dampener on Saturday's performance. There was no cohesion during that second half at all.

Whenever the young players play with the senior players it always feels like the cohesion isn't quite there. Happened when they played with the B team seniors in pre-season, too. Felt we tended to play better when it was just an U23 XI playing.

I thought we were the better team in the first half but the second half was just a complete shambles. The subs were wrong, Klich and Cooper came on and all momentum seemed to stop, apart from Cooper gifting Nketiah the second goal! Where did the attacking football go? There was no urgency from Leeds at all. They just seemed to accept they’d lost and I actually found the football they were playing boring and I haven’t felt that since Bielsa came to the club.

For me it shows in real focus this idea that you have to survive three seasons in order to give you enough time to really build something.

Imagine this team with two quality midfield signings. Signings of the quality of llorente and Raph.

Suddenly players like klitch and Dallas are on the bench and you have options to bring on quality established players to change games.

We need more depth and that comes from time in this league.

Bielsa must be pretty fed up when coaches half his age get the better of him only because Leeds's quality of player isn't up to scratch to execute Bielsa's plans.

If you swap three of our weakest performing players for three of Arsenal's in the same position the result would have been a comfortable victory for us.

Mind you we could probably say that about most of our matches this season.

Was impressed with KP and Forshaw. Midfield had a good balance and felt tough and with shape

Seemed to go wrong after Forshaw went off

You have to play along side experience and quality. If not, it’s irrelevant how long you are on the field.

From back in the day when I played as a striker in Level 7 football, that as a principle it applies at any level. Surrounded by quality on a consistent basis, the goals keep flying in on a regular basis. Play alongside dross, and they can barely get the ball to your feet, leave alone create chances.

Obviously I understand the rationale that if you play with better players then you're likely to play better, but if you're ready enough to justify a start in the PL then you should be one of those better players. Do we limit the productivity of the rest of the attack because we want to accomodate Gelhardt because he looked good in 1/4 of his opportunities?

He had no impact today. You can say all you want that its because the players around him weren't good enough, but PL players make an impact regardless. He isn't ready to have that expectation on him. He's not a PL starter yet. That's not a bad thing, as he's very young, nor is it meant as a dig, but starting him against Norwich would be rushing a player too early, as opposed to letting him develop at a reasonable pace.

I have no issue with Gelhardt coming on as an impact sub against Norwich. My concern is Harrison Roberts and Dallas are so badly out of form and confidence they also do not warrant a starting place in the team.

However our options to replace those 3 are limited.and we end up flogging a dead horse with continually playing them which I think is cruel in a way as they would be better served being left out and regaining their form as impact substitutes.

Hopefully Raphina is back against Norwich and so Harrison can be put on the bench but Dallas looks nailed on for LB and Roberts seems to be Bielsa's go to extra midfielder which a lot of us don't agree with.

Unfortunately with Shacks being used at RB while Ayling is out and Drameh probably not going to get the nod there on Sunday we only have KP Klich and a returning from a lengthy injury Foreshaw left in midfield of which Bielsa only likes to play two out of those three which gives Roberts his place.

We may just have enough against Norwich but we badly need Ayling, Bamford and also Firpo back ASAP.
