I can totally understand the point that it should be up to the player to choose whether they kneel or not. But he's ex captain and as a senior player should take a United stance, with the rest of the squad. His withdrawal is a disgrace.

There are loads of players in football and cricket who feel the same way.. Ie not wanting to take the knee. But they feel inclined because if they dont they willl get called racist..

Zaha, a black man, doesn't take the knee in football because he thinks it's now lost its purpose. Is he racist?

Totally agree

It’s his decision. If he doesn’t feel comfortable with it, don’t make him do it. It’s like when James mcclean refuses to wear the poppy. There is this bizarre uproar. The same applies here.

Interesting that players are desperate to demonstrate their concerns about equality but are happy to play the tournament in the UAE, a country which violates a number of fundamental human rights.
