On the other hand: some of the most enjoyable experiences on this forum have come from the spectacle of posters doubling down on their original point, over a span of hours, because they've long passed the point where they could elegantly concede. I think this quote (if it is actually made by Jose) is highlighting that lack of work rate from Uniteds midfield in the centre of the park (McFred and others) when Maguire is covering the left back and opening up the space between the 2 centre backs.The same can be applied when Varane/Londerloff with the right back. You saw it vs Liverpool and when the likes of Rash and fernandes refused to track back with advancing Liverpool players

No, it didn't. There was a sense of inevitability as the second half progressed.

Every time. Jose would let the horses loose for 10 mins in the first half play a high line for rash and martial and then park a bus in the second half told try and hold out a 1-0 lead. Inevitably they scored eventually. Some twice (against the likes of Palace, Burnley, Norwich, Ncastle etc etc
