Fwck me. There’s a few on here going to look right fwcking idiots IF they don’t win this league.

Bravado indeed. Let’s see what tomorrow brings (which I expect you to win of course). But if you don’t.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't expect us to win. I also haven't fallen for this incredible Celtic side either
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep. Way too close for any bravado from either support. Yet still the fwckwits will embarrass themselves.

Hey ho. Still think you’ll play sheite tomorrow but scrape a 2-1 win.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would bite your hand off for that
Having a tipple tonight?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No mate. Sat in a car park charging this thing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Haha. I get my free charging point installed in my driveway on Tuesday. Not got an electric car mind
One of the vans we leased is electric so we get it free. Not that it'll be anywhere near my house but thought why not
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Got mine fitted last week mate but Fwck me the number of fast charging points out of order is an absolute joke.

They really need to step this up or it’s just not happening.

Agreed. So frustrating it’s unbelievable.

I charge mine at work pretty much all the time. On the half a dozen occasions I have had to try and charge it out and about I have only found a working charger once at the first attempt.

The app shows ‘available’ chargers. Is it really too much to show the ones that are fooked as well 😡

Yep. We’re pretty much decided that if we can’t do the journey there and back in a single charge then we’ll take the other car which defeats quite a bit of the logic I’d have thought.

I don’t mind the hour stop to have something to eat or catch up on things work to home wise; but arriving to find nothing available or working and wondering if you’ll be in the same position at the next stop just is not worth the anxiety.

My work are thinking of doing a salary sacrifice scheme and being a rangers fan who loves a good ebt I was going to go for it.

If it's that hard to charge them though that's quite worrying doesn't sound like they are nearly close to being able to accommodate mass adoption

The taxation benefits of an electric car are phenomenal compared to petrol or diesel. As are all the other associated costs. I expect that to change in the next few years as the government can’t afford to lose the taxation income.

They talk about road tolls but if this exercise in infrastructure is anything to go by; they haven’t got a chance of it happening. It’ll just be a straightforward tax on the units which the driver will pay for and a reinstatement of a higher tax bracket for company car.

My plan was a Tesla through the business next year. That new electric Audi is stunning though.
I've got a charge point at the office and this one getting installed at the house this week so should be okay. Night not be driving to London again in it but tbh last time ginger gave me covid so not a huge loss

My work does a great salary sacrifice scheme for electric cars

Plenty of people have got them.

All logic says that I should given the dough I spend on diesel, etc.

I just can’t bring myself to drive or own an electric car.

That new Audi is some piece of engineering.

I can't remember which rag it was last week - but one of their motoring correspondents had it up against the Porsche variation and there was hardly anything in it.

Goes like the clappers and looks fantastic, too. Shame it's about £100k so only chaps like the Ginger one will be able to afford it...

When you add that im a higher rate tax payer if i buy through salary sacrifice its essentially 41% off the cost of vehicle. No brainer if they do it.

What i do wonder though is why not put magnetic strips on the motorway that would charge cars as you drive? That would pretty much solve all the problems. Of course nobody is gonna do it for free so would probably involve tolls to use those roads or passed back in road tax but would certainly solve range and charger availability issues.

Must be money to be made in that

It’s the Audi I’ve got just now until the car I’ve ordered is available. Next June ffs.

And as for the range!!!!! It’s 210 tops but on a motorway run like this weekend, more like 160. Was trying to see my mum for a while as she’s turned quite poorly but it ended up being a bit of a rushed visit.

The whole thing makes sense but the infrastructure is probably 3-5 years away from being anywhere near ready for longer journeys.

The Audi (thinks it’s the 350 e train turbo or something) isn’t that bad price wise to be honest.

It’s the Porsche Grand Turismo Turbo I’ve ordered with the trimmings (well, some of them). Next June ffs.

The tax is 2% of the listed car value at the rate of tax you pay (I think)

So a £120k car at 45% personal tax rate is £54k and you pay the 2% of that which is £1,080 per annum.

It’s incomparable compared to fossil fuel and there are added savings on fuel costs which are significant, Road tax and inner city tolls.
