No chance, he’s suited to lower expectations

He refused to adapt to a massive club. Simple as

Not that I’m suggesting we should do it but if he got a second chance to manage us after all he’s learnt since he would do a fairly good job imo.

Job was just too big for him imo. He's failed at other clubs too, like Sunderland and Real Sociedad. So it's not like United was a one off.

Im glad he is enjoying the job and doing well.

I don’t think anyone said he was simply a bad manager, just that he wasn’t a United manager and the transition between doing well and gunning to win things was too much.

Evra’s recent comments testify to this, as do a few other players’ recollections of the period.

Glad he’s doing well as he seemed like a genuine man and gave his best, but I don’t see a top English club taking a punt on him any time soon

Moyes. He's showing what a good manager he is now. Another year and he may have been winning trophies for us.

…….

Another year and we would have probably been in the championship. He never had the right mentality to manage United.

Nah I just think he’s found a club that’s right for him. Bare in mind his struggles after United and initially at West Ham.

The man won a trophy in his very first game with us.

That's what he does – he wins.

Bad timing for us and moyes… I think a combined team of pep, Jose and klopp would have struggled to follow SAF that just year

The man who followed Fergie was always going to fail. It would have taken somebody truly special to make a success of that role right after the Great man himself.

Nah.

Pep or Klopp would have had us competitive after a few Summer transfer windows.

Indeed!

Just like when a player goes on to score more when dropping down, Lingard being the latest example. You can shine brighter in darker circumstances.

100% Moyes was not backed properly and should have been given some time but he wasn't and that's that

He got 100 Krooses at home to Fulham and it didn’t help him

Pleased for Moyes. Hope West Ham win the Carabao.

posted on 31/10/21

Don’t think so. He’s a good manager but not one who has what it takes to take a big job and all that comes with it imo. He would have still had a useless Woodward doing his deals which wouldn’t have helped and it seemed the players didn’t really back him which was never going to work. By the sounds of it he wanted some good players and maybe over time if they could have come in and he could have build the trust of the players he may have seen improvements but the job after Ferguson was always going to be an impossible job.

But was that because of the manager though, that we couldn't sign them?

My biggest fear was players wouldn't want to play for Moyes. Evra's book saying Moyes said the lads would "have to show him how to win the league as he never had", solidifies my thoughts on that.

I also had worries similar with Solskjaer, us buying up-and-comers from mid-table clubs in his first window suggested that. But nailing Ronaldo and Varane - and Sancho as well, wass massive for Solskjaer's reputation.

He just needs to deliver now.

He's had a decent spell at West ham... But you need to forget he was a nightmare in Spain and Sunderland if you want to indulge in what ifs

And that he wanted to slap women

Well, he wasn’t backed properly was he? Unless you think one signing in the last minutes of the window was proper backing.

He didn't slap or say he wanted to managing at united

He just slept with as many as he could

Didn't West Ham sack him the first time around? He's he'd two good seasons with Everton and two with West Ham, I don't think the club made a mistake
