We should sack Ole now.

If we have a first choice in mind, they aren't going to pay someone £7m to sack him for the sake of an interim that may not do any better than Ole given they'd know nothing of the squad (unless it's Carrick.Fletcher) and we're already in November.

Tbf whoever we want may not be available or willing to leave their job until the season ends in May.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then get someone in as interim.

It's got to the point anyone and I mean anyone would be a genuine upgrade.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like Ronaldo?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd take even you.

To put it how bad Ole is into context, Russell Slade succeeded him at Cardiff and done a much better job (not an opinion all the stats back it up). In the present day he's not managed for two years since being fired by non league Hereford.

These are the type of levels you top reds are accepting.

Ronaldo as player manager would be blockbuster.

Mental but not beyond the Glaz£rs.

Are Spurs really going to get Conte?

He turned them down due to lack of ambition in the summer, no signs that has changed for the better.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What’s changed is that Spurs have seen another manager fail and probably realised the mistake of not giving Conte what he wanted in the summer. The Nuno debacle has played right in to Conte’s hands and he’ll more than likely be given what ever he asks for now!

Unfortunately I'm afraid we're stuck with him now at least for the foreseeable future now that it appears Conte could be on his way to Spurs.
The sacking of Nuno is the excuse the Glazers needed to keep their man in the job.

just curious... can you provide any details as to where it states we have ever shown an interest in conte?

If they arent willing then we should move on to another target. United should be their.priority if they want the job.

Fair point, still think they will plump for a cheap option.

As a Spurs fan I think you should be crawling your way to Paris to give Poch the job. He’s a project man and he nearly won the big trophies with us. Imagine what he could do with your resources. Conte is not your man. I even think it’ll end in disaster at Spurs so you should be counting your blessings. Come March or April, you’ll have a free run at Poch. He’s brilliant, loyal and he’ll stick around. He’ll be the nearest thing to Fergie as far as I’m concerned. I’m a little bit gutted that we won’t get him back to be honest.

That said, he’ll need the right players. PSG is proof that he needs athleticism and youth to play his high pressing game, which would mean getting rid of Ronaldo and Cavani.

Hearing that the naming rights for the new stadium are gonna be announced this week (now its hosting fights, concerts, NFL etc). There's a big bag of money coming Conte's way this Jan.... Its the only reason he's coming

I said last week on a thread that United didn’t want Conte, all the rumours were from his side saying he would be interested in the job. He basically was using the media and Romano etc… to try and force Uniteds hand. I have no doubt that, baring a complete miracle, Ole’s time at United is limited. Depending on results and availability of the chosen candidate he will be replaced in the summer at the very very latest. I wouldn’t be surprised if results take another downward turn that it happens sooner but the long term replacement may not be available at that time. Just my thoughts.

Yep, I'd guess we are holding out for Ten Hag. As Rodgers would leave Leicester if he was the first choice and we clearly don't want Conte.

It’s been the Spurs way but exactly how cheap have the Jose & Nuno sh!tshows been? Jose cost the a fortune to sack and Nuno won’t have gone with a week in hand!

They’ve spent a good amount during that time to, sometimes getting the more expensive item works out cheaper in the long run!

Someone like Ten Hag (maybe not him specifically) would be my shout too if rumours are to be believed, in terms of young and exciting style of play. I actually think Rodgers would be a good fit too but his buy out clause may be an issue. It’s all conjecture as to who will be next but I certainly don’t think we were ever interested in Conte.

The excuses to turn down a winner like Conte are now void given Ole played a back seven (and brought on an 8th to see the game out) against the worse Tottenham team for years.

I am not saying it’s right or wrong, am just saying it’s my take on the situation. As others have said, if they wanted Conte he would be here by now, he made it known that he wanted the job last week, he’s a free agent, and United had just suffered their most embarrassing defeat in living memory which added to a poor rub of form, conditions were perfect to get him, but not one report or rumour I seen seemed to emanate from the club. They obviously want someone/something different.
