This is supposed to be the biggest crisis we have ever faced, and might affect future generations and possible climate outcomes.
So why is China’s president Xi not there? India has committed to achieving net zero by 2070, 20 years after targets set by the summit.
China vomit to net zero emissions by 2060. Two big polluters decide to underachieve.
PM of the UK called for an end to burning coal. And a phasing out of petrol cars and measures to reverse deforestation.
I don’t agree with what PM Johnston’s said, electric cars look a long way off replacing petrol engines, and technology could still make coal power cleaner. Got no issue with deforestation, good idea, but will it only decelerate the rate the tropics and jungles disappear or will it involve replacing what’s been lost? Big difference IMO
Why not commit to an area to be replaced or protected? Commit to reducing the demand for lumber. Too few specifics being spoken about, 2030 could come without any progress.

Bill Maher did a great bit about the misuse and bastardisation of words recently in his latest New Rules section

I’ll need to look into that. Just started Stephen Fry’s Seven Deadly Sins.

China and India are only doing what they first world did a hundred years ago - using fossil fuel power stations.

We’ve a registered GP cycling 400 miles with a box of ice in his basket to try and get as close to the main hall.

Wonder what will happen?

Glad he’s got the time to take a week off when surgeries are under so much pressure.

2. I suppose given that she's 18 she doesn't have to be?

3. COP26 is the responsibility of the UK government so I would expect Westminster is ultimately responsible for the financial cost of hosting the event?
