Actually I can't believe that for such a defining game for Ole that he will suddenly have faith in picking a player to perform a pivot role in front of 2 or 3 very out of form Centre Backs of whom he has basically previously ignored for over a year, to save his own bacon.

Exciting times though...judgement day is almost upon us.

If we're looking for escape goats I don't reckon it would be Donny anyway. If he plays (unlikely) and we get beaten (likely) the heat will be squarely on Ole. After Liverpool this is his last chance saloon with a lot of us.

If we get beaten it'll need to be close or there's going to be hell on.

We will win I reckon.. But Ole will still be the villain on here.

Not sure we'll win but the second part is true.

If we lose (either closely in a good match, or getting battered it doesn't make a difference), the usual suspects will have their weekly articles ready to send at full time.

If we somehow win, they'll amend them slightly to something like 'we know he can get us these results in one off games sometimes, basic tactics on the counter, but he still needs to go'. They won't even celebrate a win vs City for one day before continuing the wrist slitting.

He had a good cameo on Tuesday and boosted our energy, so you never know.

A Matic/McT combo would be overrun. Most likely Fred will be playing though.

When I said scapegoat I did mean being made one by Ole rather than by the fans.

I was thinking we could line up on Saturday with a diamond if Fred doesn't make it. Four at the back with Matic sitting, McT and Bruno in midfield and Donny at the tip of the diamond. I've put Donny there as I think Bruno has show more signs he could play in midfield (plus I also think a bit of discipline would do him good actually).

If he does start , he may have a world class performance and be motm but I'm sure Fred will just walk right back into the team in the next match.

Bruno on the right there in a bit more disciplined role tasked with getting the ball into areas for Ronaldo. They seem to have a good understanding. It's essentially a 352 if/when Matic drops back but with a bit better passing ability from deep.
