Next Rangers Manager

Gerrard now officially announced.

Visions of Ginger and Magnum at the presser later trying to expose it all as a fake pro Rangers media agenda.

In McInnes we trust.

I see what you did with the last odds.

Good work!

McInnes could be the short term option if the board want someone in immediately. Not a great time to encourage a manager in after publishing the financial books.

Can see why McInnes might seem logical but his style is completely different to the players there so a bit like square pegs in round holes. Not against him short term coming in as I sense finding the right person might not be easy in the short term and we can't really afford to give it to one of the youth coaches given the games coming up.

Please be GVB

Reports last night of GVB with Wouters as Assistant. Would be a sensible approach given he was here for 5 years before and is as experienced as they come for an AM in the game.

Have to applaud Aston Villa for the speed of the appointment......no phannying around Celtic style

I'd like GVB but fear we'll get McInnis.

First off its nice to see the 'experts' on here shown up again for their complete lack of ability to see beyond their green and whited tinteds.

Second - I really hope its not McInnes until the end of the season. I can see why they would consider it - he is a bit of an easy option. Could step in now, might even win us a cup which seems to be super important these days.

But he isnt the answer and I would be wary of being lumbered with him long term if he did land the holy grail of the League Cup

But I would hope with Ross Wilson in the building we have a bit more imagination. He has done a decent job in the past with bringing in managers.

Gio is a young coach who has already delivered success against the odds. I think he is one the fans could get on board with.

Hopefully whoever comes in gives a few of the underperforming players (Morelos, Goldson, Barisic etc) a bit of a shake and gets a response.

Wilson will have some form of succession plan in mind. I read an interview with him last year when he spoke about always being prepared for the eventuality and how they keep tabs on Manager styles elsewhere should they need to move quickly.

In fairness to him he did well at Southampton with that and and made a couple of shrewd appointments that possibly weren't amongst the bookies favourites. I trust him to be able to move fairly quickly but it's really tough to get a good Manager at the Old Firm.

I'd be ok with McInnes at least in the short term.

I realise I may be in the minority of one though

McInnes did not under achieve at Aberdeen, he knows the club, speaks about the game well ans I think he has a bit of integrity about him.

Would have been far harder to turn Rangers down than agree to join them when he was offered the job.

Need a steady hand who knows the Scottish game, teams and players just now IMHO.

Well either him or Lenny

No I'd be fine with McInnes short term as well, not perm. Like I say the options are likely to be someone internally from the youths like Gilmour or McCallum so I'd rather McInnes for all the experience and knowledge he has. We have some big games coming up and he would be a steady if not spectacular pair of hands.

I like to see Kevin Thomson involved - I know ex players don't always work out.

Kevin 'gets what's required ' for me anyway

As long as he's under gio (who wouldn't want to be) then that's fine by me

I get that - I do.

I actually like the fact he did that though - every emotion must have been shouting 'accept' but he made a tough personal call knowing there could be consequences.

Takes some bottle that - for me
