Just a fvcking shame you have to beat 2 teams to make the finals......what happened to 2 leg play offs against one team to make championship finals......I mean I remember getting humped 6-0 by the Dutch in Amsterdam but it was beat only one team to make the finals....... it's like the English Championship play offs FFS

Might all come down to luck of the draw and avoiding the "big teams"

Is beating Holland over two legs not more difficult than beating North Macedonia and Italy for example over 1 each?

I think this gives us a better chance than the two legged affairs. Could end up with two home legs if we win the first

I would say No if the game against Italy was in Italy. A home game against Italy then possibly aye...... you're hoping for a favourable draw (which is a week on Friday btw)

Also in a 2 legged 1 team play-off, you can qualify by winning one 90 minute leg and drawing the other..... don't need to outscore the opponent twice .....just my opinion

we were outstanding last night

1st half best I've seen from a Scotland team in years

Clarke has done a remarkable job

Two more teams to join the play offs yet isn't it. Like the two best placed euro league teams that don't qualify for the world cup automatically.

Scotland have certainly come a long way under Clarke.

The progression even within the campaign has been quite impressive. Not many folk would have given us an earthly chance after the Denmark away game.

Well done to everyone involved!

OUTSTANDING.

Macgregor, mcginn and gilmour have now shown multiple times that they are capable of bossing it at any level. So confident and controlled.

however special, special mention to Che Adams, second half especially the effort and quality in his hold up play was exceptional.

How do you know your playing well? ..... See when Odonnell pings a first time half volley pass with the outside of his left foot 50 yards perfectly for Robertson.. Your having a good day.

Same logic could apply.

Two 0-0s win on penalties never outscoring any opposition.

I don't buy two one legged ties being any more difficult than one double header. All comes down to the draw.

Play like we did last night and we give all of those teams a game.

Always been 100% behind him. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar or my account was hacked.

Before the win against Austria I genuinely thought we were done. What a turnaround, he is also finally getting the performance out of this squad we thought was possible and picking the best players certainly helps.

Properly organised at the back now to the extent that changing players doesn't have an impact as all know what to do.

Outstanding

I'm not a fan but for Scotland he's never actually played like a weak link. Deserves his spot in the squad.

Although admittedly I've not paid much attention to Ralston and the hype is building so he may not be there long.

Six wins in a row is incredible for Scotland.

The introduction of Billy Gilmour into this Scotland team has been transformative. He's just such a talented player and it has clearly given his teammates a lift to know they can just pop the ball into him and he'll keep possession. His presence has also lifted the performances of McGregor and he now looks an incredible player for Scotland.

Someone on twitter was saying last night that all we need now is one of our strikers to go on a Kevin Gallagher-esque run of goalscoring form and we could actually do very well.

We played at a really good tempo last night which we rarely see.

Mcginn was tremendous driving us forward and the ball stuck to Adams, whose finish was top drawer.

Play like that with a home draw and we can at least get through the first tie.

Then it's,winner takes all.

If Che Adams works on his offsides then he could be on a hat trick a game

What a difference it is having technically gifted players all over the park.

I had reservations about Souttar and SOD but both played well, albeit I still panic when SOD has the ball. Cooper was solid and KT plays like he’s been playing International football for 15 years.

The midfield 3 are a joy to watch. The one that created the chance for Adams first half, brilliant one touch passing and then the Christie pass was unbelievable

No matter what happens we have progressed so much in the last 2 years and now we can look forward to actually having a go at top spot in groups.

Gordon

Paterson
Hendry/Souttar
Cooper/Hanley
KT
Robertson

Gilmour
McGinn
McGregor

Forrest
Adams
Christie

That’s yer team for the next 2/3 years.

Re comment about Qatar...
You could swap that for many Middle East countries. Different mentality to other countries. Got to live with it but don't give them a prestigious event to host. It smells of a lot of money passing hands behind closed doors. I thought that would be finished after Septic Blatter.

Souttar was a mountain especially in second half, he dealt with every ball into the box, his distribution also very good.

As a free this summer I think Rangers would be crazy not to chuck him a contract

The move out our box to Adams going through on goal was brilliant

He should have played it back to Robertson- great football

McGinn was just superb, still can't believe we didn't sign him ...what a missed opportunity
