What did he say that was anti-Semitic? As it seems to me any criticism of Israel tends to be categorised as that these days, when it’s often not.

It proves that cricket isn't racist. It was like when I stabbed a guy, but then it turned out that he has also stabbed a guy, so the case was dropped against me because I couldn't have stabbed the guy if the other guy had stabbed someone too.

Nah I've seen the things he said. Was definitely anti-Semitic.

Having said that, two wrongs don't make a right. This in no way takes away from some of the other stuff that's been coming out and it should still be dealt with strongly.

He said in response to someone saying a person was tight; “he is a Jew”

Then went on to say “how wrong is that, only a Jew would do that”

Just read that the jewish person that received the message from Rafiq 10 years ago has been done for sending offensive tweets to a Buddhist 12 years ago. Looks like that's Rafiq is in the clear, following the England team being cleared. Anyone got anything on the Buddhist?

I think fundamentally what he has helped expose should continue to be cleaned up.

But he has inadvertently gone from being the victim of it to being another part of the problem he helped expose

Probably the worst case of double standards I’ve ever seen. Very embarrassing for him.

Also agree the “I was 19” is an absolutely crass attempt at defending appalling comments which makes it worse.

At least him and his ilk aren't falling over themselves trying to rationalise and explain it away. A sincere apology can go a long way when compared to denial and whataboutery.

I love how people's brains try and decipher this information and reach outcomes. Reckon they'd stop an inquest into Jimmy Saville because they found out that one of his victims was also a nonce? The 2nd nonce noncing does not change the fact the the first nonce was a nonce or any seriousness of the punishment for noncing.

Makes him look daft but he has held his hands up which is better than half that Yorkshire side did. I'd also argue is isn't institutional and indeed enabled by those higher in power.

No-one has come out of this looking good though.

It was inevitable he would be looked into extreme detail for any comments etc he had ever made.

Although idiotic for his comments, and rightly apologized (although easy to do when caught out) it's unfair to compare the two situations.

Racism/anti semetism is just that, however I do think it's a little different someone making a comment online to actively using it to an individual and making their life hard.

Just go be clear there is no place for it ever. I'm Asian myself and it does wind me up when I see derogatory terms on Twitter etc. But in no way does it effect me as much as it did being called names in the playground at school or if it happened at work.

"derogatory terms on twitter "etc etc etc,
it says it all really, social media has a lot to answer for.

Doesn't change the fact that cricket, like society in general, has its racists. Its just that its not only the white fellas that are guilty.

I hope thats now the last we see of this victim crying on the telly.

Yeah looks like that is it done and dusted as a draw. The whites with a last minute equaliser which was an own goal by the Asians.

Rdd would have preferred a win for ol’whitey

An asian friend of mine was surprised at the complaints of racism at Yorkshire given he knows of many people who would rather dissapear there sisters or daughters if they tried to marry outside their own community.

Interestingly from a legal perspective some aspects of racism can only be whites, in this country.

It's based on power dynamics so the majority, here white people, have more impact on lives of non white people than vice versa.
