I don't think that was an option? Could be wrong but I think there was a rule about only taking a certain percentage of a wage cut.

Tbf these award will always factor in International football and while Lewa has been incredible for Bayern, what he’s achieved with Poland doesn’t compare to what Messi did with Argentina. Their goals/assists stats for club last season aren't that different, also factor in that Bayern we’re destroying teams week after week.
