Played better than Sancho though... 95 mins of doing sweet FA...

Just say you did not watch the match.
Rashford refuses to play intelligently. I hate that so much.
Playing him on the left might help… still got a nice assist though

This. There must have been some logical reason for him and Sancho swapping sides, but I couldn't work it out

Sancho wasn’t fantastic but he played 2 very intelligent passes in the lead up to the 1st and 3rd goals and was far less loose in possession than Rashford.
Looks like Mourinho was right about him all along.
Mourinho and the rest of the world know that Rashford's bobbins on the right flank. It's no great insight.
The way i see it, both Sancho and Rashford were not close to their best, yet we still put 3 past an Arsenal team that a lot of people have been raving about.
Let's see if they start to get to their best under the new manager.

I think the reason for playing Sancho and Rashford on the 'wrong' flanks is that with Ronaldo in the team as the goal scoring figurehead and not able to press all night long to the same degree they could is that for them the emphasis becomes a bit more supporting cast, and a bit less goal scorers. Rashford is going to put in better crosses from the right wing, and be more reliable with cut backs on his right foot if he gets behind the defenders - and the assist kind of validated that point. Sancho is pretty two-footed but he's more creative on the left than Rashford, and he too played a part in the move that led to our equaliser.
Personally, I'd rather see both players on the other wings and I'd rather our goal threat was spread around more evenly, with three younger players up front, but that's my unhealthy anti-Ronaldo agenda talking.
The guy looks more depressed than Martial, and that's saying something.
Also his obsession running into a packed defence is infuriating, never works and breaks down the attack when there's so many options available.
I think Marcus has the same issue that a lot of our current players have, namely, they lack football intelligence. When things are done at quick pace on the hop he looks a real danger, but when he has time to think or make a decision he often makes the wrong one. This can even be seen in his pressing and closing down, he often takes a moment to react and realise that he has to press.
He’s been better than Sancho this season but still gets the brunt of it. Poor Marcus. He’s a class player.
Players like rashy need development. When he broke into the first team you could see the talent.
Imho that talent has been wasted by the club. The turmoil has meant we used him (over used by Ole) as a one trick pony. He had more to his game than that earlier.
I believe martial, rashy and greenwood (albeit greenwood still has a chance now we have RR) had talent but the clubs situation has meant they have stagnated. For rashy and martial might be too late
Rashford is a good player, but i dont expect him to improve significantly now.
15 goals per season and the odd screamer.

I hope so now we are looking to implement some sort of plan and RR has previous improving players.
Bruno and rashy sis have good stats for us last season or so. But whether it's the team dynamic (with Ronaldo signed) or opposition teams wisening up ( even yesterday rashy was nullified as was Bruno to a degree) I don't think I saw rashy getting 15 this season.
Clean slate with Ralf taking over of course
He's just a player that reached the level of 'ordinary" about 2.5 years ago - and even there's nowt wrong with that, at least not at clubs other than MUFC, the real issue is that that level has now been set as his 'peak'.
He doesn't have anything else in him, nor does he have the capacity to learn, evolve and progress. He's a symptom of United's current status which is leaning towards being a 'cup team' and accepting that league titles are beyond them. It's notable that rashford's 'stats' - which are SOMETIMES useful - indicate that his best performances are either a) from the bench b) in the cups or c) against lesser defences.
I've suggested before that given a (theoretical) weightless oxygen tank even I could easily mark Rashford out of a game and I'm over 60. Against any half-decent EPL defenders he is a waste of a starting position.
And it's not as if United don't already have far better options available - some of whom don't get anywhere near as much game time as he does. Intelligent footballers like Cavani, Pogba, Fred, Fernandes, DvdB, Sancho, Ronaldo (even martial) should all be in the potential line up ahead of rashford.
Thank god we have DDG, our only wc plater aside Ronny, right iamme?

Assist for Ronaldo aside....He looked well off the pace again today.
Clean slate for everyone now though under Ralf, including Rashford. Time for some positivity boys.
