Great shout. One of my top 10 films. There’s very few I can watch multiple times, but gladiator is in there, with aliens. The opening battle scene was epic.

I've never seen Gladiator

If we're talking Russell Crowe, I'm going with The Insider. I think of it as a companion film to Heat because they're both by Michael Mann, both have Al Pacino in and are both visually stunning. (They also both have great soundtracks.)
