Wright should win with ease
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd like to withdraw this stupid statement 😂
wright looking like an old man now
lost energy and concentration
i still expect smith to bottle it
Yh Wright to win it for me
Assume they aren't announcing PL tonight cos they hope Fallon gets tour card next week?
Smith is too erratic. Looks good when it comes off but he seems to be throwing away too many legs
Think that could be the decisive set. Expect Wright to take the next 2 now.
Looks like Bully’s selling the farm
Game shot and the tournament - Peter Wright
How much money has he just won?
wright played great last few sets
but smith 5-4 (2-0) bottled it.....as many thought he would
will smith ever win a major ?

Doubt it. Good actor, decent rapper but can't see him being a good darts player.

Interesting Final. Good contest and drama but, outside of the 180-hitting, the overall quality was the worst I've seen in a World Final since 2012.
The doubles, the treble-switching, the bulls and the high-checkouts were all very, very poor.
If Van Gerwen didn't get covid he would have walked this tournament imo, even though he's not where he was a few years back. If he ever gets back to that 2015-17 level it's game over for the rest of the field - no one else is really stepping up and hitting those 106+ averages like he & Taylor used to.
Smith will still win 10+ majors though. He's only 30-odd. Peter Wright is 51 and only started winning majors a couple years ago.
MvG??? Won about 1 floor tournament all year. Nowhere near in the form to win this.
Looking forward to Q school next week. Should be interesting.

His form picked up in the last few weeks, and with the crowds back he would have lifted it another level imo. The main reason for MvG's dip was the lack of crowds (plus he's got kids now).
Also, apart from maybe Clayton, no other player won a lot this year. It wasn't like there was a dominant player that you thought could beat MvG if MvG was playing well.
Price, Wright, Clayton, Smith, Lewis etc. all play very similar 100-average darts at their best - not enough to compete with MvG on top form. The only ones who could complete would be Anderson and Rob Cross but they'd have to play lights out.

And still MvG won fack all bar a PC.

Which he is nowhere near. The 3 dart average is only part of the game.
