Your strikers smell of goatpiss
The problem is not just the strikers though unfortunately. We barely make any entry’s into the box, our progressive passing is woeful. We only completed 5 passes in the box and had 5 shots In 79mins yesterday. Obviously if we had a clinical striker we may have got something yesterday and at Man U, and we definitely need one. But until we also improve from midfield, we’ll always struggle to get enough goals. Doesn’t matter how good your striker is, if we can’t get the ball to them we won’t score enough. Our strikers are in crap form but unless Arteta can finally come up with a system that creates chances, they will remain in awful form.
The arsenal Giroud is better than the Auba at arsenal and Laca
I agree that our strikers have been total cack, but it's true, the midfield is a problem too - and starting Xhaka in his first game back from injury in an away game was an obvious mistake, you can't get away with that when Partey is playing so poorly. 🤦♂️
I haven't seen much of Balogun, but maybe he needs to start up front, right now Aubameyang, Nketiah, Pepe and even Lacazette do not look up to it. 🤷♂️
Our xG is woeful so its not the strikers. When you create so little you end up spooking them. Then they start missing even more by trying to push and go on baron runs. Fix xG and strikers will start scoring again when the pressure is off them that they have to put away every chance.

Ask her to hit the barn door infront 40k and god knows what else from the manager/coaching team afterwards if she was to miss.
Don't get me wrong. I think they have lost confidence and really the manager should be asking why? As a supporter I think its obvious. When you create so little every small error is magnified beyond belief. Both the big misses yesterday were by the subs. And no other striker would have been that heavily criticised for Auba's miss if wasn't for his reputation as a prolific striker. He was scoring under Emery and even won us the FA Cup. Then what happened? I'll give you one word - Arteta.
Stick a false moustache on Vivianne Miedema and put her in the men's team.
If lack of xG is the problem, and it’s not the strikers primary job to create the xG (but convert xG to goals) does that mean our bigger problem is with our attacking midfielders ie Saka, ESR, Odegaard? I mean that logically follows right? Or are they free from blame and instead it falls more on the CMs?

Probably was, but even Giroud wasnt good enough to take Arsenal to where us fans want to be which is competing for league titles. That's why I didn't ever think of Giroud as a very good striker. Now we are even worse and getting worse by the day. Arteta isn't going to get us where we want to be. All a sad pathetic waste of time

Good question.
I think its the lack of coaching on combinational play. Whether its on defending, eg press or attacking patterns. I don't see any which is why Arteta has often been criticised for a lack of style or pattern of play. Our transitions are awful and slow because players don't know where their teammates are going to be. So you get slow turgid two touch football where players are always looking around where to pass next instead of knowing it already from the training ground.
I think the players can perform to a far higher standard with better coaches and a quality experienced manager.

Giroud wasnt a prolific goal scorer he's main attribute was good hold up and linking with the players around him.
Still got to get the ball to him in the right places and have good movement around him though

Great answer. So essentially the best thing Arteta could do right now is to get some better coaches supporting him. Appreciate that it would be better to have the quality experienced manager that you mentioned, but in the short term that doesn’t seem possible. Maybe that’s why Arteta is looking to bring Yaya Toure in, to get that higher calibre into the attacking coaching team

I thought he needed better coaches last summer at the very least if he wasn't fired. I made the point several times about Steve Round and Malmo coaches don't cut it at the top level. The problem is of course Arteta has not done that for the last 2 summers. So is he insightful enough to his see his own shortcomings? Is it just too late now because the players are not responding to him. Lexington posted a stat on the Arsenal thread yesterday that Laca has only had about 5 shots in his 9 starts. Thats actual shots! You have to ask what have the coaches been doing about it? Arteta is into his 3rd year and we look arguably more abysmal going forward than we did under Emery.
And I don't subscribe to view that its too late to replace Arteta. Contrary I think this is the ideal time to do so because we are not that far off the top 4. Bring in an interim with gravitas like Joachim Lowe and promise him the vacant 'Raul' position in the summer where he can then bring in an upcoming coach, whether its Potter or someone else. Just like Man Utd have done.
You make a strong point, just really feels the board is all-in on Arteta and desperate for it to work. Just can’t see them cutting him loose before the summer, unless this terrible form continues for another 10 games or so
