Put the money towards VAR.
Or alternatively make them do press conferences/interviews post match where they have to explain their decisions.
Failing that, mic them up to the stadium and TV feed so we hear in the moment reasoning for their decisions. Would also clean up the behaviour of footballers if they knew they were getting fined for swearing at refs or being abusive and it was picked up by the mic and aired.
The fact there is so little transparency or apparent accountability is the reason nobody trusts referees or the authorities who supervise and govern them.

Why’d you have to go and make things so complicated?

I think full time professional refs are part of the answer for sure, that combined with var.
The bigger problem for me is that we apparently can't afford it. That in itself is pretty poor when you look at some of the league's that can.

I see Kev Clancy running about my local park all the time. He wears his UEFA/FIFA ref jacket whilst out running so he does seem to be taking it pretty seriously.

Well, Fellows, I have turned my All-Seeing Eye on this challenge and according to the Golden Rules. I think it's all Rite.
You're welcome to Lodge an appeal.

It's not that dear, it really isn't.

Aw much as I want improvements for clubs outside of Rangers and Celtic it probably is quite dear. I'll bet both of the top two have one player on about the weeks wage budget for other premiership teams.

You're on the square mate.
Portuguese and Dutch top level refs make $1370USD per game.
Plus an annual salary of up to $130,000 and $96,000 respectively.
