And what people like BlackCountry haven’t read into is that our NHS was previously struggling anyway pre Covid due to years of closing hospitals even though theres issues overpopulation, budget cuts, brexit restricting nurses/doctors, lack of Brits wanting a career in medicine and Covid has completely pushing them beyond limitations.

Questioning everything is absolutely fine. As an epistemological approach, it’s unnecessary and a waste of time; but you can certainly argue it’s better than questioning nothing.
If you re going to take that approach, though, you have to ask yourself the question: ultimately, what am I trying to achieve? Why am I setting such a high bar, and given the incredible personal investment in the approach, what additional benefits will it return me?
The answer to that question *should* be something along the lines of a better, clearer and more accurate both picture and, therefore hopefully, understanding of how the world outside my mind really is.
So far, so good. But for any of the above to deliver meaningful results, which given the aforementioned investment is even more important than it would otherwise be for your average woman on the street, you also need to get some rules in place to help you determine how you’re going to assess all of the information you consider before making inductive and deductive determinations about the nature of the world around you.
Or in short, you need to decide what value to attach to what evidence; because if your goal is to better understand the meaning of events in the physical world, your belief in the natures and causes of those events should be proportional to the weight of evidence in support of them.
This is where the arguments of the TUXs and TheBlackCountrys of the world fall spectacularly flat on their arrrrses.
If you’re determined to find the truth, you have to commit yourself to doing a bunch of things to ensure you assess all of the evidence available evenhandedly and thoroughly.
- First you have to enter the endeavour without bias. People with a long history of actively seeking out ulterior motives behind absolutely every political decision and constructing or adhering to poorly supported (by evidence) conspiracy theories aren’t necessarily going to be best placed to enter into this endeavour.
- You have to reject cherry-picking in favour of a consideration of all of the evidence. For example, no hunting specifically for and selecting the one academic study the results of which suggest an opposing conclusion to the 99 others on the subject; no singling out any one particular country’s data because it presently supports your narrative; no ascribing truth to the one dissenter in her field in the face of an academic consensus, etc.
- You have to steer clear of the argument from false authority; which would mean, for example, on questions of virology, epidemiology and public health, assigning more weight to the opinions of virologists, epidemiologists and public health experts than to those of YouTube channel financially supported chiropractors and naturopaths.
- You have to ascribe more weight to hard empirical data over human testimony.
Etc.
(Those really interested in epistemological rigour will recognise a host of logical fallacies that conspiracy theorists claiming to ‘question everything’ fall foul of habitually. The irony is real.)
TL;DR
If your ultimate goal is ‘the truth’, and you’re going to make a serious investment in attempting to achieve your goal by ‘questioning everything’, you’d better have a robust process in place for considering all of the evidence at your disposal.
And if you have such a process in place, and you adhere to it, you can’t come to the same conclusions that the likes of TUX, TheBlackCountry (seemingly, assuming that they are not simply trolls) and other COVID conspiracy theory adherents have arrived at.

What I find with conspiracy theorists is that they have the audacity to call everyone else who disagrees with them sheeps, but are complete slaves to their own ideas and will never back down over anything or will look at the complete picture.

Going to be interesting to see what the limit is number wise before they get serious. Genuine chance that the UK has 100k cases a day a month from now and if not that, certainly new record high figure.
This is one being quite happy to plod along in the 40k mark with no real rules starts to look stupid. Just maintaining mask wearing during the vax stage probably has that number at least halved.
